Work Text:
On a frosty winter night, Buck sits beside the cozy fire with a bright, happy grin on his handsome face as he takes the warm mug of hot chocolate and swipes a finger through the yummy, melting whipped cream dripping onto the hot chocolate. He licks it off and sips a small taste.
He hums blissfully as he drinks his hot chocolate, his eyes closing as warmth spreads through his body as he savors the delicious treat. He picks up one of the cookies sitting on a nearby plate and nibbles away, almost making nom-nom-nom sounds before taking another sip of his hot chocolate.
When he pulls the cup away from his lips and looks at Eddie, who sits next him, grinning like a cute fool, Eddie palms Buck’s cheek, and gives him a tender kiss. Feeling blissful as he kisses Eddie, Buck is joyful for every night that ends with chocolate and loving kisses.
“I love you.” Eddie says, grinning at him with heart eyes.
In Eddie’s heart, he loved Buck so much. So, every day, when Buck kissed him or hugged him or smiled at him, Eddie returned the embrace. He saw his soulmate, his reason for living, and it made him smile.
On this winter night, he leans in and whispers, “I love you, Buck.” He leans forward and kisses Buck sweetly on his lips.
Buck sets his drink aside and hugs Eddie fondly as he lays his head upon Eddie’s chest, feeling peaceful. “I love you, too.” He clings to his boyfriend like an octopus and buries his face in his chest as Eddie rubs his back soothingly. The snow continues to pour down outside as they kiss, and as they snuggle beside the fire, he pulls Buck a tiny bit closer and smiles when his boyfriend lays his head on his chest.
Buck knows he is smiling like a fool in love as they cuddle together by the fire, but he cannot help it. He never, in his entire life, thought he could love someone so very much and that someone else could love him just as powerfully. He had a happy home and a beloved boyfriend who filled his life with joy and love, and he could not ask for a better Christmas gift than that.
“Buck, listen to me, baby,” Eddie says softly, brushing a hand soothingly down his boyfriend’s back. “I love you. My heart belongs to you. Forever.”
Buck looks up at him, his lips sweet and soft, and Eddie wants to kiss him. Buck puts a hand on his chest, feeling Eddie’s heart beating quickly. He feels the love his soulmate has for him flowing off in waves, and Buck just wants to wrap himself up in that affection and snuggle in it. “I love you too, Eddie.”
Buck lights up like a firework on the Fourth of July while he smiles brightly. His heart is so full of love it may burst. He kisses Eddie softly, savoring the sweet taste of his beloved’s lips, which he swears are as sweet as honey. All Eddie wants to do is spend the night with his boyfriend in his arms, cuddle him, and kiss him until Buck is breathless.
Buck is wrapped around him like an octopus, grabbing Eddie in a big bear hug. There is a warmth in his heart that only grows with each passing day, and at the end of the joyful day, they sit cozily together on a blanket, drinking hot chocolate with puffy marshmallows as they watch the snow fall outside their blissful home, sweet home.
