It was a long day... After a usual night routine he put on his usual pajamas and got into the bed with Kaz
He was exhausted… but well… he just couldn't sleep… it must've been the coffee… he doesn't even drink coffee often… and now he can see why…
It had been at least 20 minutes. It felt like hours. Laying in complete silence… in the dead of night at 11pm. until he heard a voice behind him, Kaz "can you also not sleep?"
He stayed silent for a moment… not entirely sure if he should even respond. But he rolled over, facing him "I suppose yes… also can't sleep…"
A low giggle could be heard from Kaz "that's a first one"
He groaned in response, not annoyed, just trying to hide the fact those teasing comments got to him so easily… he just couldn't help it. So hopelessly in love… before he could say anything Kaz already wrapped his arms around him, settling comfortably against him… he always did this. There was not much awkwardness anymore anyway.
His cheeks flushed slightly, he turned away, hoping Kaz wouldn't see it… despite himself he embraced him back.
It was comfortable, warm… comforting definitely. He always appreciated this feeling.
It was eerily quiet… but it helped him relax. No more stressful thoughts, all he could think about was the warm feeling and the familiar smell of his partner. And maybe he could even hear his racing heart…
"I can hear your heartbeat Eddie… it's racing. Together for so long yet you still can't get used to me being close…"
He could almost see the grin on Kaz's face… he didn't even have to look to know he was enjoying his inner struggles. "You know you make me weak sweetheart…"
"I know…" was said in response, snuggling even closer
His eyes finally started to feel heavy with sleep… even though he wanted to cherish this feeling for longer…
"I love you…" He said as his hand lazily went to Kaz's hair, stroking the brown strands, his touch full of care and love. Burying his face in his hair, inhaling softly
"I love you too…" was the last thing he heard from his beloved before finally closing his eyes and being able to drift off
