Chapter Text
“Sev.”
“Mm.” Severus mumbled against Sirius' chest, miffed about the attempt to wake him.
“Sev.”
“Mm no.”
Sirius laughed softly and leaned down to press a kiss into Severus' hair, “Come on, it's time to get up.”
“No classes, no wakey.”
“You really wanna do this?”
Severus cracked one eye open and stuck his tongue out at Sirius.
“Okay, fine, you asked for it!” Sirius rolled out from under Severus and yanked the blankets off of him as he stood.
“Gah! Fuck! Sirius!”
Sirius laughed again, “I warned you.”
Severus sent Sirius a sidelong glare and rubbed his face of sleep as he sat up against his headboard, “I hate you.”
“I love you.”
Severus sent another glare Sirius' way, “You are not making that our theme song, Sirius. I won't let you.”
“I hate that I love you!” Sirius sing-songed as he sat on the bed next to Severus.
“That's the third time! Stop doing that.” Severus sighed and let his head fall against Sirius' shoulder.
Sirius pouted, “Aw, but it's fun!”
“Will you guys shut up?!” Barty hissed from across the room. Sirius stuck his tongue out at him, “Real mature, Black.”
“Sorry, Barty. Sirius is an asshole. We'll get out of your hair.” Severus sighed as he stood up, pulling Sirius with him out of the dorm and towards the common room, “Hey Regulus.”
“Hey, Severus. Siri.”
Sirius nodded and grinned at his little brother, intertwining his and Severus' fingers, “Hey, Reggie. Got any plans today?”
“Remus and I are going to force James to study. Lily might come, Severus, if you guys want to join.”
Severus shook his head as he sat beside Regulus on the couch, Sirius sitting down with him, “That's alright. I don't really feel like doing anything today. In fact, I was going to sleep in, but your insufferable brother woke me up.”
“Sorry ‘bout that. We both rise early because of… things.”
“Trauma response.” Sirius said casually, playing with Severus' fingers.
Severus decided he'd talk about that with Sirius later, “Shall we go down to breakfast now we're up?”
“Sure!” Sirius grinned.
“Can I come? James’ll have a fit if I miss another meal.”
Severus shrugged, “Don't see why not.”
When they got down to the Great Hall, Severus had to stop outside the doors for a moment to take a deep breath. This was still new for him, even after almost half a month of being out to the entire school. It still kind of freaked him out to be walking into the Great Hall with Sirius' hand in his.
“You okay?”
Severus looked up at Sirius and nodded, “Fine.”
Sirius squeezed his hand softly and they stepped through the doors. A couple heads turned, curious, but everyone knew they were together, so no one really paid much attention to them. This greatly improved Severus' stress levels.
They sat at the Gryffindor table, mostly because Sirius still got testy around Slytherins in other years, but also because of Lily and James.
“Hey, Sev! You're up early.” Lily remarked as he sat beside her.
Severus grumbled, “Sirius is a morning person.”
Sirius kissed Severus' cheek, “You still love me, though.”
“Gross! PDA!” James said as he sat halfway in Regulus' lap.
“Yeah. They're the ones who show too much affection in public.” Regulus said sarcastically.
“See? This is why I love you. You get it.” James said happily, his head falling onto Regulus' shoulder. Regulus just rolled his eyes.
“I think you all could stand to deal with a bit of distance.” Remus murmured, sitting on James' other side with Peter.
“You're just jealous.” Sirius huffed.
“I'm Aroace, Sirius, why would I be jealous?”
“Because Sev is hot.”
“That makes no sense given the context of what I just said.” Remus rolled his eyes.
“Besides, Sirius, I'm bisexual and I also think you guys could do with a bit of separation.” Lily reasoned, “I mean, you don't see me getting that close to Mary all the time.”
“Wait, what??” Sirius whipped his head in Lily's direction, “You and Mary are together? Since when?”
Lily shrugged, “Last year.”
“What? But- we-”
“Sirius, you didn't actually think Mary was dumb enough to believe you're straight, did you?” Sirius looked at her dumbly, Lily laughed sharply, “No! No, she just didn't want to see you grappling with yourself without anyone to help you through it. If we'd known about you and Severus then she wouldn't have ever ‘gotten with’ you.”
Severus covered a snicker with the back of his hand at the look Sirius gave her in that moment, “I always did think you two had some chemistry, Lils. I'm glad you’re together.”
Sirius huffed and crossed his arms, his hand still holding onto Severus', “Whatever.”
Severus shook his head fondly and nodded toward Sirius' plate, “You wanted to get up early, if you don't eat then there’s no point and then I'll really be pissed.”
“More than when-”
“Too soon, Sirius. Eat.” Severus interrupted before Sirius could bring up how exactly they'd been led to this moment, out in the open, taking a bite out of his own toast so he wasn't forced to keep up conversation longer than he wanted to.
