Chapter Text
Pigeons are beautiful creatures of nature. Flying high and low. Being all over the world, you won't ever miss them.
Now, let me tell you guys the story of a bunch of pigeons. Together forming a big flock, named ‘strength’.
A strong, prideful pigeon. Feathers completely black, like the void. A gold shine on his head, almost like a crown. He's the leader of the flock, Tai is the name.
Yet, this story does not fully start with him. It starts with two pigeons, calling themselves the ‘dere duo’. Rings a bell?
Well let me introduce them anyway. The first pigeon goes by the name Blueleaf. His body is dark blueish feathers, gradually transitioning to a pretty brown. Sounds normal, right? Well, no. Because this pigeon wears a gasmask, and somehow has a golden ring shining above his head. Talk about weird..
The second one is Salem. Dark grey and white feathers, going over in a dark brown. Unfortunately, he once got attacked leaving him to be blind in one eye. Don't be fooled though! He may not look weird, but he definitely acts like it.
They were best friends. Always pulling jokes on others, especially humans (and Tai, but oh well). If you saw one of them, the chances of seeing the other would be high. Inseparable, you can say. For now at least.
Currently, Blueleaf and Salem were flying above the city. Chattering among themselves. They saw some yummy looking crumbs and immediately flew down. It was a little snack for them. A little girl, in the distance, was looking at them.
“Pigons, pigons!”, she yelled with such excitement. Getting closer and closer to them. Blueleaf didn't mind. Salem also didn't seem to-
Nevermind. Salem started making noise, so loud, so highpitch. He was acting possessed again. It didn't take long for the little girl to start bawling her eyes out and other human beings to try and get the two pigeons away.
“... Really?”, Blueleaf muttered the moment they were back into the sky. “It had to be done!” Blueleaf shaked his head at Salem's answer.
They flew back to their nests. Flying effortlessly through the trees. They knew this forest like the back of their wings.
But, mishaps get made. Salem didn't see the branch sticking out. Maybe because of the lack of one eye, maybe not. It didn't matter. He had not seen the branch, and the moment Blueleaf yelled at him, it was already too late.
A loud ‘smack’, was all Blueleaf heard before seeing Salem lying on the ground. He flew down to his friend, a lot of thoughts racing through his head. Blueleaf can not lose the one person dearest to him. The one that was there for him in all of his darkest times. Salem.. Always making Blue laugh. Pissing him off too, but that was how their friendship was.
Two birds that got kicked out of their nests, by both their own parents. Two birds that found each other when they had no one. Two birds saving each other, without knowing. Two birds who formed a bond so strong, nothing could bring them apart.
That was what they always thought.
