THE scene opens with silhouettes of the Creation Trio – Diagla, Palkia and Giratina. Arceus’s emblem shines over them.
NARRATOR
In the beginning, there was only a churning turmoil of chaos.
At the heart of chaos, where all things became one, appeared an Egg.
Having tumbled from the vortex, the Egg gave rise to a great being.
The Original One, Almighty Sinnoh…Arceus.
From itself, two beings Arceus did make.
Time started to spin. Space began to expand.
From itself again, three living things Arceus did make.
The two beings wished, and from them, matter came to be.
The three living things wished, and from them, spirit came to be.
The world created, Arceus took to unyielding sleep...
CUT to Greenleaf Forest in the Concord Region (formally Ransei). The place looked as if it got hit by a tornado. Branches littered the ground. Trees were upturned and ripped from their roots.
A Mudsdale approaches the destruction. Riding atop it are two trainers, Oleen and Cedric. Oleen is the one directing the Mudsdale. She is modelled after the female Aether Foundation Employee, but without the uniform. They survey the damage.
OLEEN
What a mess…could a space-time rift really have caused this?
CEDRIC
Folks kept saying this was where it appeared. It looked like a pretty big one from the looks of it.
OLEEN
If it was, I’m surprised nobody else noticed a giant hole in the sky.
CELEBI (O. S)
Celbii.
A Celebi appears and surveys the damage. It looks distressed at what it’s seeing. It glows a vivid green and some of the damage in the forest begins to heal.
OLEEN
A Celebi? That’s a Pokémon you don’t see every day. Did the rift attract it, maybe?
SHE hears a rustling in the bushes. Celebi floats around the bushes and gestures to Oleen. It appears to be trying to tell her something. Oleen and Cedric hop off Oleen’s Mudsdale. Oleen strokes Mudsdale’s face.
OLEEN
Wait right here, Mudsdale. We’re just gonna do some investigating.
MUDSDALE
Ne-hiii.
OLEEN and Cedric go to where the bushes are rustling. Oleen pushes them and yelps in surprise. Cedric goes over to her.
CEDRIC
What is it?
HE sees what startled Oleen. A Chandelure leaps out of the bushes. It has several wounds. It waves it arms frantically.
CHANDELURE
Lurre! Lure! Lure!
CEDRIC
What the-? Is that a Chandelure? I thought those species of Pokémon didn’t live in Concord. How’d it get here?
OLEEN
However it got here, it looks really badly hurt. Those wounds…
CHANDELURE floats behind Oleen and pushes her deeper into the forest.
CEDRIC
I think it’s trying to show us something.
ORLEEN follows Chandelure into the forest. Cedric trails behind.
EVENTUALLY, Oleen and Chandelure enter a grove. Oleen sees that this is where the most destruction took place. She suddenly looks uneasy. Was this really the work of a rift? Her thoughts are interrupted by a cry.
ELEKTROSS
Tross!
SHE spots an Elektross in the middle of a grove. It’s just as badly wounded as the Chandelure. Elektross’s body is coiled around something in a protective manner. Chandelure floats towards Elektross. Oleen watches them converse. They seem to have a conversation between. She’s a little apprehensive.
ORLEEN
Uh, Cedric…can you take a look at this?
CEDRIC
[coming over]
What is it?
[sees what it is]
Is that an Elektross?
THE Elektross stares at the pair for a moment before uncoiling its body slightly. Oleen and Cedric stare at what Elektross was protecting. It is the unconscious body of the Subway Boss Emmet. He’s just as injured as the Pokémon. Oleen gasps and covers her mouth.
OLEEN
Oh my gosh. Cedric, it’s one of the Subway Bosses from Unova! How did he end up all the way here?
CEDRIC
[SHOCKED]
Wait, seriously?!
CELEBI appears and flies over the group. Oleen, not noticing, takes out her Rotom Phone.
OLEEN
Professor, it’s Oleen. Are you there??
PROFESSOR Protea’s voice can be heard on the phone.
PROTEA (O. S)
Oleen, is everything alright? You sound distressed.
OLEEN
W-we were investigating the rumours about the space-time rift, and we found one of the Subway Bosses from Unova in Greenleaf Forest. His Pokémon are with him as well, but they’re all really injured. We’re on our way with them!
PROTEA (O. S)
I see. Hurry as fast as you can. We will be waiting back at Aurora City.
THE call ends. Cedric takes out his own Rotom Phone.
CEDRIC
This doesn’t make sense. Unova’s still on lockdown, right? How did he end up in Concord?
OLEEN
It must’ve been that space-time rift! What else could it be?! You call a Flying Cab, I need to get Mudsdale!
SHE leaves the grove. As she leaves, Celebi hovers over Emmet, Chandelure and Elektross and glows again. Cedric watches as Celebi heals their wounds. They should be fine now. Emmet mutters something in his sleep.
EMMET
In…go…
CHANDELURE and Elektross look on in concern. Cedric also seems worried.
CEDRIC
Seriously…what happened to you?
