Chapter Text
Damn you, Josuke. Yuya collapses on the ground, coughing up a thin yellow liquid. He sits firmly against the door of the supply closet, trying to hold it closed. “Highway Star! Plug the crack!” From his back emerge several small purple feet, clamoring over the door to cover all the spaces that anything could potentially enter through.
The sound of gusting wind from outside the door dies down, and he breathes a sigh of relief. He laughs out loud, coughing up a mix of blood and the yellow liquid. “Take that! Your stand is far too weak to breach this door. At this rate, you’ll just tire yourself out.” He hears the footsteps of his adversary recede.
I just need to figure out how to get out of here. If I can get to safety, I can call on Josuke or Koichi to get me out of this. He looks back at the door, propping himself up while inspecting the frame. The sections of his stand wriggle slightly, but otherwise hold firm against the barricade.
The light in the room dims slightly, and he turns to the wall opposite to the door to see a window. Alright! I can climb out and book it back to my girls. He moves tenderly, scooting his way over to the door to avoid rubbing his burns the wrong way. He reaches out and clicks the latch open, sliding the window out of his way. He pokes his head out the window, looking to the left. Clear.
He takes the opportunity to sniff at the air. Daisies? That’s weird, I thought that- He freezes, slowly going back through the window.
“Curious, this is the first time someone has noticed my stand before it attacks.”
Yuya flips onto his back, seeing the woman leaning out the window above him. She raises a fist above his head, and begins sprinkling a yellow powder into the wind. Yuya catches a faint scent, and shuts his eyes as fast as possible. Holding his breath, he retreats back into the storage closet, but it’s too late. The chemist’s next attack has begun.
