Chapter Text
“I Got No Time”
The focus shifts to Mario. He was alongside his team, waiting for more information about the Terrorwave virus, a virus that poisoned the amygdala of the brain and made response to bear much more sensible. He and his friends were being affected by it after a recent ambush.
Recently, Diddy and Kirby had told me everything that happened to them. They were taking a small break. After that, I saw Yoshi get through the door, holding a bag of chips. He looked dirty and sweaty.
“Here you go, Crash. I need to take a bath. (Throws chips)”
“Are you ok? Your orange shoes smell even worse than Sonic’s.”
“Yeah, i’m…I’m fine. I just encountered Tommy while getting those chips.”
I shook my head. What?
“What? Are you serious?”
“Yeah. We fought with wooden sticks. That’s why I’m all sweaty, and I smell like underwear. But at least I got the chips. And I also have something else to tell you. Just let me take a bath first.”
Fine. Let Yoshi take his bath. He went upstairs. Back to watching TV.
(STATIC SOUND!)
“WAH!”
“AH! (X13)”
Someone jammed the TV? Son of a bitch! And it only got worse when we heard the voice.
“It’s so easy to hack you, guys. The only reason I don't attack your house right away is because it’s not my style to kill people while they are vulnerable."
“Hm. Charlie Leepus. That brat.” Just like I didn't want to involve the VGPD in this, he also follows a code of his own. So, this makes things fair. That’s what I WOULD say if he hadn’t kidnapped Banjo’s sister before. Son of a bitch.
“I have a challenge for you, and ONLY for you. And maybe that hat with eyes too.”
“Four years, and he still doesn’t know my name.”
“Yeah, that’s disrespectful.”
“So, what’s the challenge for Mario?” Crash asked, scratching his head.
“It’s a TV with no microphone. He can’t hear us.” Pac-Man corrected.
“Oh.”
“I’ve left 5 not-so-secret documents with valuable information in these five locations. I’ve only recreated one of them, and the others were already here, in the Ville Game City.”
The TV showed images of their interiors…
“A Pizzeria.
A Large Pizzeria.
A Horror Attraction.
An Abandoned House.
And a Rental Place.”
For some reason, all of the images looked very dark. It seemed like a trap. A pretty obvious trap. I’ll just let Charlie finish speaking.
“If you have balls, try to get the documents.”
“Or, if I have a brain (which I do), I WON'T try to get the documents.” I said.
Charlie’s hacking ended and we went back to looking at the usual programs. And no, I didn't allow Conker to put porn on the TV.
“Well, let’s move-
“Mario, wait. Come here for a moment…”
Diddy, calling me even though he was meant to take a break? Ok, I'm interested now.
“I was taking a look at Tommy, since I spotted him in one of the city’s cameras…And look at this. He’s actually in the Pizzeria right now. We can even listen to his voice. I’ll up the volume.”
“(Camera filter) So, I don't really get why…But for some reason, Charlie told me to put the red documents here. The red documents are the real ones. Or were the red ones fake? No, I think the blue ones were real. Ok, I'm gonna leave the blue documents here. Those were the last blue documents. I can leave now.”
“(Laughs) We can always count on Tommy’s stupidity, can’t we Mario?”
“Yes we can.” Tommy really did just put in the real documents for us, huh? Well, now even if it’s a trap, I'll have to avoid it to get the reward.
“Boy. Let’s go upstairs. We’ll check on how to tackle these locations.”
Charlie didn’t mention any specific order on how to visit these locations. It was up to us. We went upstairs, and I taped five images of the locations on a whiteboard.
“There’s a few different ways we could visit these places, boy.” I told Cappy.
“You’re the boss, Mario. Surprise me with your amazing order of choice.”
Five documents.
Five locations.
Five nights.
What should I do?
