Chapter 1: Welcome to Unova
As the middle child of the family, Lincoln Loud had always been caught up in crazy adventures. But this… this was one he felt unprepared and guilty about. How did he let this happen?!
It was supposed to be a simple wedding. A wedding between Albert (Lincoln’s grandpa who he called Pop Pop) and Myrtle (the grandmother figure). Unfortunately, Lincoln and his family had found themselves being sent to space. And the worst part… Lincoln was to blame for the whole mess.
While everyone else was eager for the wedding, Lincoln’s head was somewhere else. He was constantly thinking about the stories Myrtle had told him when she was still a spy. He was supposed to hold onto the wedding rings. But instead, he became obsessed with completing a secret mission to prove that he could be a good spy.
He had found out that some evil people who worked for Myrtle’s old enemy were up to something. Myrtle had to save him, but she got kidnapped in the process. In order to save her, Lincoln got his family together on a rescue mission.
Unfortunately, the whole thing was a trap! The kind lady that had helped Lincoln get so far to find Myrtle was actually Fifi Dufus, the wife of Rufus Dufus! When her husband was launched into space and had learned of Myrtle’s engagement to Albert, she made a plan for revenge.
Lincoln was sitting in the space pod with his family. The good news was that there was a way to escape. The bad news was only one person had to stay behind to save everyone else. Myrtle and Albert argued about who would stay behind.
But then, Lincoln did the unthinkable: He activated that magnetic watch (which Lisa had given him) and put his grandparents with the family. With a sad look on his face and against his family’s protests, he closed the escape hatch and pulled the lever! His family was on the way back to Earth. But Lincoln was bound to be trapped forever in space.
Lincoln slid to the floor and hugged his knees. He covered his face in shame. “I should’ve listened to Myrtle,” he said to himself. “What on earth was I thinking? No, scratch that! I wasn’t thinking at all! My family doesn’t deserve to be up here for this! If anyone deserves to be up here, it’s me. It’s my fault!”
As he sat there, he thought back to what had led to this very moment. He could still see the evil smile on Fifi’s face as she mocked the boy for being so foolish. He could picture the angry faces of his family if he were to return home. After everything he had done, how could he possibly face them now?
He was on the verge of crying when suddenly he felt the pod stop! He gasped and looked around! He noticed blue electricity all around along with some orange light. Where did they come from?
Suddenly, he felt the pod begin to move slowly. He leapt to his feet and ran to the window. He saw that he was coming back to Earth. But then, he saw something else: A black creature with a big tail, wings on its back, and red eyes glowing. Its body was covered in blue electricity and using it to guide the pod. “What the heck is that thing?!” He cried.
But the strange creature wasn’t alone. Next to it was a large white creature. It had massive wings, a long tail, and blue eyes.
As the pod came to a stop, Lincoln stared at the two magnificent creatures with shock. Then he fell to his knees and hung his head. “Is this my punishment for being so reckless and putting my family in danger?” He asked aloud. “If it is, then finish the job quickly. I don’t deserve to live after what I’ve done.”
The two creatures glanced at each other for a moment before looking back at the white-haired boy. The white creature got closer to the pod and studied the boy. After a few minutes of studying him, the white creature turned to the black one and nodded.
The pod began to move once more. Lincoln noticed that the two creatures were guiding it to another part of Earth. He felt confused. Where exactly were they taking him? What were their plans for him?
The creatures guided it carefully, making sure to not let it burn as it entered the atmosphere. Finally, after a long time, Lincoln could see that they were bringing him to some kind of forest near a small town. As soon as the pod landed, the creatures carefully opened it, allowing the boy to crawl out.
Once he was out of the pod, he looked at the two creatures and yelped as the white one brought its head close to him. Its nose touched his forehead and it closed its eyes.
“Become a strong trainer! Prove yourself worthy! When the time is right, I will return to you!”
Lincoln gasped as he heard the strange voice speak to him. Was the white creature communicating with him? How was that possible?
The white creature moved its head away from him. Now the black creature knelt down next to him.
“You are filled with much guilt. Learn to forgive yourself for your mistakes. You’re going to do great things here. When you’re ready to face them, call the people you love. Don’t be afraid to ask for help when you’re at your lowest point.”
Lincoln could stare at the two creatures in awe. They nodded at him and took the sky. He watched them fly off until he couldn’t see them anymore.
He looked around and decided to try and find some shelter. Unfortunately for him, it wouldn’t be very easy due to how exhausted he felt. Why was he so exhausted?
Deciding to worry about that later, he slowly began to try and make his way out of the forest.

Not too far away, a strange creature that looked like a sea otter with a shell on its belly was running through the woods. A sad look was on its face as it ran. Once again, it was overlooked.
Why? Why wouldn’t any trainer take the sea otter creature? Was it weak? No, it was pretty strong, right?
The sea otter creature slowed down and sat against a tree, wiping away its tears. It remembered what had happened earlier.
About an hour ago, it waited alongside two other creatures: A fire-breathing pig and a small green lizard. When the trainers came by, the sea otter was excited. It hoped that it would finally be picked as a partner!
But, that was not the case. The girl picked the lizard, and the boy picked the pig. A few other trainers were in the room, but they gave the sea otter a look of disdain. The words that the others said still hurt the poor sea otter.
“Oshawott?! Why would I want that ridiculous Pokemon?!”
“It’s too weak to do any fighting! I’d rather take Tympole than this obnoxious Oshawott!”
“Fire-types are simply the best! Forget those blasted Water-types!”
The sea otter let out a sad sigh as it looked up at the sky. It hoped that someone would take him as theirs. Anyone!
Thankfully, it wasn’t alone. Walking alongside it were two girls and a boy. The boy was a teenager with jet black hair, black eyes, and pale skin. The first girl was around the boy’s age. She had short blonde hair, fair skin, and bright green eyes.
The other girl looked to be about twelve years old. She had dark skin with a medium brown complexion, red-brown eyes, and long dark purple hair that was tied in a way to look like an Iris.
“Don’t worry, Oshawott,” said the first girl. “I know there will be a trainer for you soon.”
“Bianca’s right,” said the boy. “Every Pokemon deserves a Trainer, after all.”
“Yeah,” said the other girl. “It just requires a bit of patience
Oshawott felt a little better at the kind words of the humans that walked with it. Just then, it stopped and heard the sound of footsteps. It looked over and gasped as it saw a boy with white hair walking by slowly.
“What’s wrong, Oshawott?” Bianca asked. “Why did you stop?”
Oshawott began to jump frantically while pointing. The three humans followed his pointing and gasped as they saw the newcomer slowly walking by. Suddenly, he stopped and fell to the ground.
A puppy-like creature with a fluffy face was walking cheerfully. Suddenly, it stopped and sniffed the air. It saw the unconscious boy and ran over to it with worry. It sniffed the boy’s face and listened for a heartbeat. It looked relieved to hear the boy’s heart beating.
Oshawott ran over to the puppy, who gave it a concerned look. Bianca quickly ran over and carefully lifted the unconscious boy onto her back.
“Whoa,” said the teenage boy. “What happened to him?”
“I don’t know, Cheren,” Bianca said. “But we’ve gotta get him to Professor Juniper quickly!”
The puppy whined with concern. The young girl noticed how worried it looked. So, she picked it up and ran over to Bianca. The puppy gave the unconscious boy a gentle lick on the cheek while Oshawott climbed onto his back and rubbed his hair. With that, the group began to make their way out of the forest.
Meanwhile, in a lab, a young woman in a white lab coat was busy putting the finishing touches on a strange device. “This Pokedex will soon be ready,” she said.
Just then, she heard the sound of someone banging on her door, followed by a voice: “PROFESSOR JUNIPER! PROFESSOR, COME QUICKLY! WE HAVE AN EMERGENCY!”
Juniper ran over and opened the door. She soon saw the two girls, the boy, Oshawott, and the puppy. But then, her eyes locked onto Lincoln’s unmoving form. “Oh, my gosh,” she cried. “What happened?! Iris, get the first aid!”

We see a view of Unova from a bird’s eye point of view before it zooms in on Lincoln. He is holding a Pokeball in his hand and being kept company by Lillipup and Oshawott.
He stands up and smiles at his two Pokemon before heading downstairs. As soon as he’s down, he sees Professor Juniper smiling at him. Cheren, Bianca, and Iris also wave at him with Lincoln blushing a little as he looks at Iris.
It cuts to Lincoln and friends seeing Team Plasma for the first time. Lincoln frowns at them and glares at Ghestis!
Lincoln and N face one another as they each send out one of their Pokemon: Lincoln’s Lillipup and N’s Purrloin!
One by one, Lincoln is seen facing off against the Gym Leaders. A determined look is seen on his face while Iris stares at him with adoration.
Lincoln is now sitting in a tent, holding a picture of his family. He holds it close to his chest and cries a little.
At Royal Woods, the Loud Family and friends are seen looking worried for Lincoln. Myrtle and Albert look at each other with determined expressions, eager to find their grandson.
We see flashes of Lincoln battling trainers and Team Plasma. He is then seen riding on Rheshiram, glaring at Ghestis once again.
Rheshiram attacks Zekrom with fire! Zekrom responds with an electrical attack!
N stares at Lincoln, who smirks at him with his team behind him. Finally, the title card appears!
“LINCOLN’S ADVENTURES IN UNOVA!”
Lincoln was laying in bed. His eyes were closed tightly as he tossed and turned. He was having a nightmare!
Lincoln was in a dark void, running as fast as his legs could carry him. But all around him, he could hear voices speaking horrible things!
“You’re no brother of mine, you little twerp! You ruined this wedding! You ruin everything!”
“I totes wish I never had a brother! I never want to see you again!”
“You let us down, brah! No, scratch that! You're not my brah! You’re a disgrace!”
“Chandler was right to call you lame! And he was right to laugh at you! You’re a failure!”
“Stinkoln, I hate you! I was right before! You really are bad luck!”
“You’re no spy at all! You never should’ve done that! Even the darkness hates you!”
“How could you do this to us? We trusted you! The animals should eat you until there’s nothing left!”
“The man with a plan? More like the man of disaster!”
“You’ve always been in over your head, former eldest sibling! I’ll be glad to know you're gone!”
“Wincoln is a bad bwother!”
“You’re no son of mine!”
“Stay away from us! We never had a son in the first place!”
Lincoln clutched his head as the voices continued to speak. He panted heavily as he spoke: “Stop it… stop it… stop it… stop it…”
He slammed his fists onto the ground and raised his head up: “STOP IT!!!!!”
“Why should they stop?” Said a familiar voice.
Lincoln looked up and saw Fifi giving him an evil smile as she spoke. “They’re right to criticize you, you know! You put your own interests before your family. You deserve to be hated by them. You ruined this!”
The next thing he knew, Lincoln was trapped in the pod and returning to space! He banged against the glass, desperate to escape! But it was no use! The sound of evil laughter surrounded him as he clutched his head once again!
“STOOOOOOOOOOOOOOP!!!!!!!!” Lincoln cried as he woke up! He panted heavily and looked around. He found himself in some kind of bedroom. As he slowly began to calm down, he looked at the blanket that was placed on him and gasped as he saw two creatures laying on it. One looked like a sea otter with a white head, and the other looked like a puppy with a fluffy face.
The two creatures stared at him with worry. He hesitated and reached out before rubbing the two creatures’ heads. They smiled in response. The sea otter hugged him while the puppy crawled up his chest and licked his cheek.
Just then, the door opened. Lincoln looked up and saw a young woman in a lab coat looking at him with a relieved smile. “Thank goodness you’re awake,” she said as she walked in.
“Wh-who are you?” Lincoln asked.
The woman smiled at him before shaking his hand gently. “I’m Professor Juniper,” she said. “And you are?”
“L-lincoln,” the boy answered. “Lincoln Loud.”
“What a wonderful name,” said Juniper.
“Thank you,” said Lincoln. “How did I get here anyway?”
Juniper gave him another smile. “You were brought here by a few people,” she said. “Even Oshawott and Lillipup over there had a hand in helping you out.”
“Oshawott? Lillipup?” Lincoln asked. He glanced at the two creatures who were smiling at him. “Is that what they’re called?”
“Yes,” said Juniper. “They’re both Pokemon here in Unova.”
“Pokemon?” Lincoln asked with a raised eyebrow. “Unova? Um… I… don’t know what you’re talking about, Miss Juniper.”
Juniper looked surprised. “You’ve never heard of Pokemon?” She asked.
“No, ma’am,” he answered. “Where I’m from, we don’t have Pokemon.”
Juniper tilted her head curiously. “Where exactly are you from, dearie?” She asked.
Lincoln looked down before answering. “Royal Woods, Michigan,” he answered.
“Oh, my,” said Juniper. “You’re quite a long way from home, aren’t you?”
Lincoln let out a sad sigh. “Yeah,” he said. The memory of how he nearly got his family trapped in space was still fresh in his mind.
“How did you end up here?” Juniper asked.
Lincoln looked up at her nervously. He rubbed his hands anxiously, unsure as to whether or not he should explain his situation to her.
“Oh, is it a sensitive topic?” Juniper asked. “Do you need to call your parents?”
Lincoln gasped and shook his head rapidly. “No!” He cried. “Please don’t call my parents! I can’t go home! Ever! I just can’t!”
Juniper jumped at the outburst. “What?” She asked. “Why not?”
Lincoln hung his head in shame. “It’s because… I ruined everything,” he said, tears forming in his eyes. “I-I did something terrible and… I can’t face my family right now!”
Lillipup saw how sad the boy looked. In response, it licked his tears away while Oshawott gave him a gentle hug around the neck.
Juniper rubbed the boy’s head. “Why don’t you come downstairs with me?” She said, “I’ll get some food ready for you, and then you can tell me all about what happened to you. Does that sound okay?”
Lincoln looked up at her and nodded in response. Juniper gave him a kind smile and helped him out of the bed. With that, she began to gently lead him downstairs with Lillipup and Oshawott following.
