Chapter Text
It was fated. I was left with no option: die or live. For an eternity.
The moment lasted a split, but the aura flared like it would go for a decade. Or more.
The last of human screams left my parched throat. My nerves were on fire, blood evaporating to the heavens. Everything I could see was turning a pale blue, a shade that was hauntingly the same colour as Yveltal's eyes.
The heavy flap of its wings ceased, my heartbeat pacing faster and faster when it slumped to the forest floor, eyes closed and body cocooned — the sight felt heavier than death.
That's when I heard the voice I would always get bored of: "Come with me, Child."
My eyes shot up towards the bright gleaming emerald light. It was from Xerneas, the life-giving pokémon that stood towering over us, its antlers throwing a thousand lights over us.
"Why?"
Its green eyes scanned me, igniting with a strange fire of divinity before its telepathic voice rang. "Till the battles are won, you'll stay in His Royalty's Realm."
Curiosity nabbed at my insides, even though I could clearly see my fingers turning paler with every passing second. When I spoke, my voice was dryer than dead leaves. "And where is that?"
It blinked. "You sure have a pot of questions. I'm afraid you'll have to count the days...or months, Sir Aaron."
I nodded unsurely. Whatever it meant was the foggiest of ideas. Nonetheless, something about the calming halo it radiated had my feet walking towards it.
It blinked again, this time more tentatively that it forced me to mirror its actions. When I did open my eyes, the vastest of clouds lay before me, tinged in many hues but none the brightest.
My eyes sought the legendary pokémon's, but it was staring ahead, unblinking. Its telepathic voice resonated within my pounding ears once more, this time in an echo of regret.
"Welcome to the Oblivion. This will be your abode for days... or centuries, Guardian Ash Ketchum."
