Bruce picked Joker up off the ground by the scruff of his collar and moved to bring him to the batmobile, like dragging a dog away by its collar when it was misbehaving.
The left side of Joker's face was bruised red, and his own blood stained his teeth as he bared them in a satisfied grin despite barely being able to keep his eyes open.
'Typical.' Bruce thought. The madman giggled, as if reading his mind. Bruce averted his gaze, looking straight ahead now as he walked.
"That was fun," Joker spoke, louder than he needed to. "We should do this again sometime, yeah?"
Bruce was about to respond when Lex Luthor yelled from behind them. "Fuck off! We're never doing this again." Bruce looked at Joker to find that the clown actually was, indeed, talking to the bald billionare.
Pouting, Joker spoke up again. "Aw, come on now, Lexy darling, dont be like that! I know you had fun tooooooo!" Bruce's eyes met Clark's, and the alien grimaced from where he was hovering a few steps away from Lex.
Luthor looked like he was about to retort, but Superman grabbed his shoulder and steered him away from Joker. The green-haired man huffed.
Fist tightening on Joker's collar, Bruce dragged him away and shoved him into the Batmobile.
It was after they had entered Gotham that the Dark Knight swerved the vehicle into a dark alley, grip tight on the wheel.
Joker had been humming some tune until then, swaying his legs without a care in the world. Pausing now, he looked at Bruce, seeming genuinely confused. Batman glared at him, then got out of the car.
Dragging Joker out after him, Bruce shoved the other man against one of the concrete walls of the alley.
Joker grinned, amusement and curiosity shining in his eyes. "Someone wants to go for round 2 already, I see."
Grabbing the clown by the front of his shirt, Batman snarled. "Why were you in Metropolis? This is supposed to be between me and you."
Joker rolled his eyes. "I just wanted to hang out with my buddy Lex, is all." He shrugged. "Dont worry Batsy; Superman's cute, but hes not my type."
Bruce growled, leaning in so close that Joker's breath was hot against the side of his face. "And Luthor is?"
Joker blinked once, then narrowed his eyes. "Maybe." Bruce clenched his jaw. "Why? Are you jealous?" Joker's smile widened.
Batman gripped Joker's shirt so hard it was a miracle that it wasnt torn yet. "Shut up." Joker tilted his head to the side. He looked like he was about to say something, but Bruce beat him to it.
"Never do that again. I dont want you fooling around with him." Joker huffed. "Of course you dont. You prefer me locked up in Arkham."
The clown sighed. "Off we go then, I guess." Sounding dramatically resigned, he leaned his head back on the wall. Bruce didnt move.
Joker raised an eye-brow. "Well? Aren't you gonna take me to Arkham now?" He had a point, Bruce really should.
But he wasnt done yet. Joker only called Batman " darling ", and Bruce wanted it to stay that way.
"Shut up." Bruce grumbled, then kissed the clown.
Joker froze, tensing up for a second before melting into the kiss.
It took 2 hours from that point for the batmobile to arrive at Arkham's gates.
