Unexpected

Summary:

Tim and Lucy are still figuring out their relationship, but there is a slight change of plans. Unexpected chenford baby.

Chapter Text

Lucy and Tim had been dating for 6 months. Everything felt perfect. They honestly thought they couldn't live without the other. They were right where they wanted to be. Their dating had started after they finally confessed their feelings after hiding them for months. Even though they had loved each other for what felt like forever, they had both agreed to stay where they were in the relationship for a while. Not moving forward not moving backward just familiarity.

3 months later

Lucy's eyes slowly blinked open as she woke up. The suns bright gold rays shining into her room through her curtains. Her alarm was going off, starting to slightly enrage her. She tried to let it go as she got up from her bed, but she didn't want to get up. Her sheets felt as soft as silk and her blanket kept her warm and cozy and feeling unable to move, but it didn't feel trapping, it felt soothing and protective.

She started to sit up and wipe her eyes but she couldn't help but feel tired. She stood up and walked to the kitchen saying a quick good morning to Tamara, her roommate. Tamara might seem like her roommate, but Lucy thinks of her as so much more. They haven't said it officially, but it's obvious the way Tamara loves her is like the way a daughter loves her mother, and Lucy loves Tamara more than anything and would do anything to protect Tamara.

Lucy walked over to the coffee machine and started to brew some coffee. She heard the dripping of the coffee into the mug and could smell the bitter smell of the crushed coffee beans. As it was brewing she started feeling a quick wave of sickness wash over her. She ran to her bathroom as fast as she could and threw up in the toilet. She sat there for a second processing because she hadn't felt like she normally does when she's sick. Sure she was tired, but she gets tired a lot. She started to sit up using the counter to help her up.

As she walked out of her room, Tamara saw what had happened and asked, "Luce, are you ok? Do you need to stay home today?"

Lucy responded with, "I'm fine Tam, it's probably just food poisoning." Was it really food poisoning? Lucy believed it was. She noticed her coffee was done brewing and went to pour it into a mug. She took a sip of it like she normally did, but it didn't taste normal. Instead of being the normal delicious drink it usually was, it tasted bitter and gross. She spit it out in the sink and poured the rest of it out.

"You sure you're good Lucy?" Tamara asked.

"Tamara I'm fine!" Lucy snapped loudly. "Oh my gosh I'm so sorry Tam. I didn't mean to snap, I don't know what came over me." Lucy apologized, feeling overly emotional for some odd reason.

"Whatever Lucy." Tamara said rolling her eyes and walking into her room.

"Tam wait! I'm sorry." Lucy couldn't help but cry when Tamara ignored her. She had been feeling so emotional recently for a reason that she couldn't seem to pinpoint. She blamed it on stress from work. That's when she realized she was late for work and had to leave, leaving no time to talk things out with Tamara.

At Tim's house

——————————————————————————————-

Tim had woken up feeling refreshed like he always did. Today was different though. He had got up, gotten coffee, walked Kojo, showered, and got dressed, like normal but something seemed off. He couldn't get Lucy off his mind, and not in the normal way,

Normally Tim always thought of her with happy thoughts and about how much he loved her, and that was still on his mind, but mainly now what he was thinking about was his worry. He was worried about Lucy. He knew how much stress she had been under with work, after she recently got promoted to detective, but he felt like something else might be wrong. For the last few weeks she had been not acting like herself. She was moody and avoidant and she just seemed stressed and overwhelmed.

Tim made it his goal to help her today. He left his house and got in his car to go to the store. He went inside and bought her sunflowers (her favorite flowers) and lemon drop candies (her favorite candies). He decided to stop by her apartment to give them to her. He walked in to the building just in time to see her leaving.
