Chapter Text
"Where's Wednesday?"
Was the first thing that Enid Sinclair said after her first transformation. The usual blonde and hyper werewolf was now covered in blood that was not her own and draped in her usually soft and fuzzy but now equally bloodied pink coat. It would be a pain to try and get all of this blood off of her favorite pink coat but she wasn't thinking about that, the only thing on her mind at the moment was Wednesday.
Wednesday, her roommate. Wednesday, the morbid and macabre girl that scares the shit out of all their classmates. Wednesday, the girl she wolfed out to save.
Enid didn't have time to be proud of herself for finally wolfing out after years of not being able to, she wanted to know where Wednesday was. If Wednesday was okay.
She frantically searched the crowd for her, for a glimpse of those black braids she was so accustomed to seeing everyday now. She looked at the faces of people that were surrounding her, nobody had seen the morbid girl. Ajax's arm around her shoulders wasn't helping. She just wanted to see the one face she'd been searching for.
She looked beyond the gate, at the three figures walking towards the large group of students. Enid stopped, observed, then she ran. She didn't care for the students behind her or for the two other figures that were also there, she just ran to the one figure that she instantly recognized. The one she was searching for.
As soon as she met her, Enid practically crashed into Wednesday, quickly turning it into a crushing hug. Wednesday on the other hand froze, not expecting the impact or the fact that she just got hugged. She pushed Enid's shoulder just a bit to get a good look at the werewolf.
Wednesday wasn't dumb, far from it actually, she knew exactly who rescued her from Tyler, or in this case, the Hyde who had her by the neck in the air and forcefully pinned to a tree. She knew exactly which werewolf had lunged into the Hyde knocking it of balance and releasing her. She knew exactly which werewolf it was as soon as it turned around to reveal the pink and blue strands coming from it's fur.
"Enid?" Wednesday said after she saw her.
The raven was in shock, breathless, but mostly in awe as she gazed upon the werewolf who seemed to instantly recognized the sound of her voice.
That sense of awe quickly disappeared once she realized the gravity of the situation. Enid transformed for her, and now she has to fight this Hyde alone.
"Enid!" Wednesday yelled as the Hyde attacked the werewolf, tossing her back but quickly got back up and growled seemingly prepared for this fight.
Wednesday didn't want to leave Enid alone with this violent creature but seeing as Enid was as prepared as she could be and could hold up herself to fight, she decided to leave this fight to the larger outcast at hand.
"I need to get back to the school!"
She added, informing Enid of her departure. In reality, the psychic didn't fully know if her colorful roommate was going to be okay, but she had put her trust in her which said a lot.
So looking at her once colorful and now bloodied roommate in front of her, Wednesday felt a surge of things that she couldn't name.
Pride? Yes, definitely. Relief? Also yes, but she'd never say so out loud to anyone. Awe was of course there, she saw a werewolf up close, even better that she knew said werewolf. But there was something there that she couldn't quite identify, something that was taking up space within her.
She didn't have time to dissect it, nor did she want to in all honesty but something was pulling at her and the longer she stared at the wolf, the harder it tugged. So Wednesday Addams did the unthinkable and pulled Enid back into the hug and even hugged her back.
They both simultaneously melted into the embrace, burying their faces into each other's necks. They savored it as if it was one of their last, both pouring in equal amounts of relief that the both of them were alive.
Enid quickly let out her sigh of utter relief as she held onto Wednesday even tighter, her hands sprawled against the brunette's back as she closed her eyes. Wednesday also ended up closing her eyes in what she would consider a moment of weakness as she clutched onto Enid.
The moment was a long and very needed one that would've never come to an end if it weren't for Enid's trembling. Wednesday paused and opened her eyes and once again pulled away, just enough to look at Enid. That's the moment when she realized that the werewolf was crying in her arms. Knowing Enid well enough to know she'd rather not cry in front of all of their classmates and be on display for all to see, Wednesday pulled away from the embrace and instead took Enid's hand and tugged her along in the direction of Nevermore.
The walk back to their shared dorm was quiet with the exception of Enid's sniffles every now and then. Once they got back to Ophelia Hall and inside their room, Wednesday pulled Enid inside and shut the door behind them. She glanced back to check if the werewolf was okay only to be met with her blue eyes staring back at her.
They stared at each other for a few moments. Wednesday was the one to break eye contact first as she went rummaging through her closet. Enid watched her. Just watched her as she was still standing in the middle of the room until she realized she was. She blinked and began to move over to her bed, until Wednesday stopped her with her words.
"Don't sit. I'll run you a bath"
The raven said as she pulled out two sets of clothing from her closet, a set for her and a set for Enid, as she went into their bathroom and started Enid's bath.
Enid was still trying to process everything that happened from that evening before she realized that she should respond.
"Okay…"
A few minutes later, Wednesday emerged from the bathroom.
"Your bath is prepared. Once you are done we can clean up your wounds."
Wednesday said as Enid exhaled and nodded as she made her way into the bathroom.
As the werewolf entered the bathroom, she paused in front of the mirror and glanced at her reflection and frowned. She knew during her fight she would definitely have scars but she didn't realize they would be huge gashes that took up one side of her face. She pouted and quickly turned away from the mirror and focused on the task at hand.
She carefully stripped herself of her pink bloodied coat that was now dried and turned into a rusty brown, that matched with the dried blood on her face. She looked at herself in the mirror once more before getting into the tub where the warm water awaited her.
She stayed submerged in the water for a while, after all, this was her first time ever wolfing out and she was practically aching all over. The sound of her own bones crunching and the pain of transforming were something that she could now never forget. It was only when the water got colder and she started to shiver that she started to actually put effort in washing herself off. First her hair, then her face, finally her body. Twice. Just to make sure she didn't miss a spot.
Enid let out a sigh of content as she let the water drain out. She now smelt like cotton candy and vanilla. She sat up and got out the tub, searching and grabbing for her towel before she noticed the clothes that were neatly folded on the counter. Black folded clothes to be specific, a hoodie and some sweatpants. Wednesday lent Enid some of her clothes to wear.
Enid felt her face heat up at the gesture of Wednesday sharing her clothes but she guessed it was expected; she doesn't think Wednesday would ever go into Enid's closet without her permission first, or due to the fact that Enid's closet looks like rainbow vomit. Enid took her towel and dried herself off.
The clothes Wednesday picked out were actually really soft and comfortable on Enid's skin. The hoodie that was usually big on Wednesday fit her perfectly. Enid then looked back at her pink coat she previously had on and grimaced; yeah that's gonna take a while to get those blood stains out of. She hung her towel up and gathered up her ruined coat and exited the bathroom.
Once she exited she found Wednesday sitting on her own bed, a medical kit laid out before her. The raven looked up at Enid as she approached her.
"Sit."
Enid draped her coat on the back of her chair and sat down next to Wednesday on her bed. Bandages, gauges, and a sewing skit rested on the bed's black sheets as Wednesday moved closer and began to assemble exactly what she needed.
This time, Enid got a good look at her. There was blood almost everywhere but the most prominent places on the other girl were her stomach, shoulder and her head. She felt the urge to reach out to the raven
"Weds..maybe you should go shower before you start on my wounds..?"
Wednesday paused, just barely, before looking down at herself then continuing to get her supplies together.
"Weds…" Enid tried again, pouting a little.
This time, Wednesday looked up at her and saw the look of concern all over her roommates face. Something churned inside Wednesday as she let out a small sigh, abandoning the kit and Enid on her bed in favor to go shower.
Her shower was rather quick as she came back out with similar black sweats that matched the pair Enid had freshly put on a few minutes ago, and a plain black long sleeve. Her hair was still in her signature black braids, though they look re-done. She moved back over to sit next to Enid and her supplies. She smelt like dark chocolate Enid noticed.
Enid watched as Wednesday worked, dabbing some alcohol on a napkin before turning back to Enid.
"This will sting."
Enid gulped nervously as Wednesday started to carefully dab along the side of her face where she completely forgot her new big scar was. She hissed and jerked away. Wednesday paused before delicately grabbing and placing her hand on Enid's chin, turning the blonde's face back to her.
"Stay still.." Wednesday said in a tone that was a bit softer than usual.
Enid's face was flushed now as Wednesday had a hold on her chin. She was gentle, very gentle, with holding and cleaning Enid's face and unfortunately, that made Enid's face burn even more. She didn't know whether Wednesday caught on to her blushing face, she most likely did but didn't comment on it which Enid was grateful for because she didn't know if she could take the macabre girl's comments right now.
After Wednesday disinfected Enid's wound, she carefully applied some ointment to the gashes and bandaged them individually. Her hand lingered on the werewolf's face for a while before pulling back slightly and looking at Enid.
"Anything else?"
"No not really.."
Wednesday nodded then began to work on herself, lifting her shirt slightly to check on the stab wound that was left and healed by Goody earlier.
The Addams girl really didn't mean to put her injury in Enid's line of sight but alas, her roommate saw it anyways.
And her eyes widened.
"Weds? Did you get stabbed!"
Wednesday winced at the girl's outburst as she pulled her shirt back into place
"Yes"
"Are you okay?! Being stabbed is a serious problem you know!"
"It is healed, Enid. No need to be meticulous"
Enid groaned as she stared at Wednesday's deadpanned expression as the shorter girl began assessing her other wounds.
"I can help, you know.." Enid said
"I'm sure you can"
"…Let me help?"
That made Wednesday pause. She was going to decline, like she would always do but they've been through enough for one day for Wednesday to deny the girl who wolfed out to save her, so Wednesday Addams relented.
"Do you know how to stitch?"
"Yeah but why would I need to—"
Enid was cut off by Wednesday shrugging her shirt to the side to reveal the puncture in her shoulder.
"Jeez..it looks like you got shot by an arrow"
"That is precisely what happened"
Enid met Wednesday's gaze which was already on her and decided to not ask questions right now even if she really wanted to. This night has taken a toll on the both of them.
The taller girl grabbed the supplies that Wednesday laid out earlier to begin to stitch her up.
She paused then glanced back up to Wednesday.
"Is it okay if I..?"
"Yes, Enid, you may come closer in order to assist me"
She nodded and got closer. As she got closer, their knees touched and Enid's breath hitched as she quickly looked up at Wednesday only to find her focused on the needle in Enid's hand
"Get a grip.." Enid whispered to herself and she pushed through and got as close as she needed to in order to stitch Wednesday up.
They were close. Close enough that all Enid could clearly smell was Wednesday now; dark chocolate and coffee. She began to patch up the raven as Wednesday watched her the whole time, not looking away.
Soon, Enid finished, lifted her head up and grazed her hand along the stitches that she did before remembering who she stitched up and pulled her hand away.
"Well there you go..all finished thanks to doctor Sinclair"
Enid chuckled nervously at her own joke in order to take away from the fact that they were extremely close. Wednesday on the other hand looked down at Enid's stitches. She rolled her shoulder once.
"It's not perfect but its what I can do" Enid said as she looked over the stitches again before looking back at Wednesday
"It's not impeccable..but it is acceptable"
"Was that a compliment I just got?"
Enid teased as she bumped her knee against Wednesday's own as Wednesday huffed.
"Hardly"
"I think it was"
"You are delusional, Enid"
That made the werewolf chuckle, she desperately needed a distraction from their previous battle.
Not too long after, she began to yawn. Wednesday raised an eyebrow and looked at her. No wonder she was tired, there was a lot of action and new revelations for one day. Wednesday got up and began to clean the medical kit off her bed.
"You are tired and require rest"
"But..I want to stay up and talk with you, im not ready to go to sleep yet…"
Wednesday turned around to look at the now terribly sleepy girl and sighed.
"Go to sleep, Enid"
The blonde groaned as she reluctantly got off of Wednesday bed and treaded her way over to hers. She plopped down face first into the multiple pillows and blankets on her bed. She was deathly tired.
"Ugh..I feel like i could sleep for a week" She mumbled into the pillows
"A natural reaction when you overexert your body"
The exhausted werewolf quickly settled into all her blankets and found herself a comfortable spot on her bed and yawned again. She then looked over at the other girl who was now in her respective bed, reading a book like she always does before bed.
"G'night, Weds.."
"Goodnight, Enid"
It didn't take long for the vibrant girl to fall into a much needed sleep.

When Enid opened her eyes she was back in the woods she was in just a few hours ago. Confused and disoriented she began to run, it wasn't until she heard a very familiar voice that she began to run faster. Wednesday. Wednesday was in trouble. She needed to save her.
She got there just in time to see the Hyde pin the raven high against the tree, by her neck no less, but something was wrong.
Why wasn't she wolfing out? She began to shake in fear as she looked down at her hands which were just her regular extended claws.
"No. No no no no no, come on! Not now..!" Enid said frantically as she began to panic and try her hardest to wolf out.
"E..nid.." Wednesday gasped out before there was a deafening crack sound. Enid's heart dropped as she looked back up to find Tyler laughing as he held Wednesday's now slack body.
"Guess you were too late to wolf out and save her" Tyler said mockingly before dropping the girl's body and running away.
"No.." Enid mumbled as she ran to Wednesday, trembling as she pulled the cold girl up to her chest. Enid didn't know when she started crying but it didn't stop. She stared at her for a while before she was plummeted back to reality.
Enid sat up violently with a gasp. She tried to breath but it felt like she wasn't getting in enough air. The werewolf then felt a hand on her shoulder and looked up. She wasn't aware of Wednesday's arrival over to her side of the room but she wasn't complaining.
"Enid."
"Hm..?
Wednesday stared at her, her face still deadpanned but Enid could see the concern look in her eyes.
"Talk. What happened"
Enid sniffled as she looked down at her hands which displayed her extended claws.
"…I had a nightmare. About you actually"
Wednesday froze not expecting the reason for Enid's night terror's to be because of her. Enid noticed the guilt on Wednesday's face and quickly spoke again.
"Not like that! It was about earlier. What if I didn't save you in time? What if i was never able to wolf out? What if—"
"Stop"
Enid quickly closed her mouth. Wednesday sighed out and let go of her shoulder, sitting on the edge of Enid's bed.
"I am alive, you were able to save me before something drastic happened. There's no reason to think about what could've happened if the outcome was satisfactory"
Enid blinked, she was still trembling from the aftermath of the nightmare.
"..Would you like anything? Wednesday asked, staring at the shaken up werewolf.
"Water maybe..?"
Wednesday nodded and got up to go retrieve a water bottle. She came back a few seconds later with a water bottle for Enid and handed it to her. Enid graciously thanked Wednesday and took the water bottle, opening it and drinking a large portion of it. Wednesday observed Enid, she was still trembling although less than before. Enid then cleared her throat.
"Uh, Weds, this might be a..sudden question but"
She paused and Wednesday looked at her, silently telling her to continue speaking. Enid fidgeted with the water bottle in her hands before placing it on her bedside table.
"Can you like, stay with me?"
"I'm right here, Enid?" Wednesday said confused.
"No like, with me, here in my bed"
Wednesday paused and looked over at Enid who wasn't meeting her gaze.
"You want me to sleep with you?"
Enid's face lit up at the way Wednesday said it.
"N-not like that but..yeah..? I really don't want to sleep alone after that..but only if you're okay with it!"
Wednesday continue to look at her before reluctantly nodding in agreement which made Enid beam. She moved over to make space for Wednesday as the raven retreated back to her bed to retrieve her own pillow. She placed it down on Enid's bed and carefully laid down next to her. They faced each other as Wednesday laid down, Enid with her hands tucked under her head.
"Are you sure this is okay, Wednesday?"
"If you mention it again I'll be forced to have to retreat back to my side of the room or resort to the manslaughter of all of these plushed animals you have on your bed."
Wednesday said, her face unreadable. Enid chuckled.
"Okay jeez, no need to drag my plushies into this"
"They are occupying majority of the space on your bed"
"Yeah, you might be right"
Enid replied softly. They ended up staring at each other for longer until Enid yawned.
"Okay, I think im officially tired again" Enid mumbled
"Good. You need rest"
Enid lazily laughed.
"Good night, Weds"
"Good night, Enid"
Enid quickly drifted off to sleep which left Wednesday alone with her thoughts. She started to feel the same thing that she felt earlier when she looked at Enid, something that she still didn't want to put a name to.
But it was there, and it stuck with her long until she eventually drifted off to sleep in the same bed with her colorful roommate.
