Chapter Text
Cherri wakes from her nap not sure how long it’s been since she fell asleep but she yawns and stretches getting out of her stone coffin.
“That cleric sure did a number on me. I wonder how long I was out and if any of the coven is still around might as well check.” Cherri thought as they left the Crypt they were magically asleep in.
-
It’s a brisk walk in the woods when Cherri runs into her first stranger of the day, maybe Cherri didn’t need to kill everyone she met, this one was quite pretty and perhaps a worthy vampire.
“Why hello there.” Cherri says politely with a wave walking to meet the stranger.
“Oh, I thought the area was abandoned. It's a pleasure to meet you. I'm Apo.” Apo replied, caught off guard by Cherri.
“Plesure to meet you Apo I’m Cherri, might I ask what you’re doing in the woods by yourself? They're quite dangerous, you never know what creatures could be lurking in the forest's shadows .” Cherri asked.
“I’m not scared of wolves and I'm here on deployment, I'm looking for Oakhurst, to set up an outpost.” Apo replied.
“Who said anything about wolves? And ‘deployment’ your part of the military I take it?” Cherri questioned, Apo nods.
“Well today is your lucky day. I happen to know these woods very well and exactly where Oakhurst is and was going there myself anyway.” Cherri remarked happily.
“It's safer in a group anyway, let's get going then.” Apo replied.
“Perfect, follow me.” Cherri says as she leads the way to where she remembered Oakhurst to be.
_
Cherri leads the way to Oakhurst and hears people talking inside.
“Hm, I suppose we were beaten here.” Cherri remarked as they walked into the crumbling wood walls.
“I'm telling you all there's vampires here!!!” A boy with bandages around his neck was saying.
“Dont be ridiculous vampires aren't real, Bigfoot on the other hand is most definitely real and close!!!” A girl with red hair and glasses said.
“Oh yeah you're so right Shelby.” A blue haired man said who Cherri recognized to be her Sire Scott Goldsmith.
“Vampires in Oakhurst? I sure hope not considering their fictional.” Cherri remarked walking over to the group followed by Apo.
“Well I'll be damned if it isn't Cherri Fire.” Scott remarked.
“Good to see you too Scott.” Cherri replied.
“You two know each other?" Shelby asked.
“Yes, I made all his fancy clothes for a long while.” Cherri replied.
“And you did a splendid job at it Cherri.” Scott remarked.
_
The conversation lasts for quite a while and Cherri meets all 14 of the other residents of Oakhurst, and takes note of a few they deemed as interesting and possibly some good options for a new coven.
Everyone claimed a roommate Cherri jumped at the chance to get to know Apo better so that's whom she chose along with someone named Pyro.
“Scott, do you mind if we have a chat in private?” Cherri asked.
“Of course I don't." Scott replied.
“Wonderful follow me.” Cherri said and the two walked off towards the woods.
_
“What did you want to talk about Cherri?” Scott asked.
“What's the plan? Are we making a new coven? If so, I want to turn Apo.” Cherri replied.
“I have seniority Cherri. I get first dibs.” Scott replied.
“That's not going to work on me, after all your sloppy work started an uprising not mine.” Cherri remarked.
“Fine you can turn Apo when you get the chance, and I'm pretty sure we're not the only Vampires here.” Scott replied.
“Oh who do you suspect?” Cherri questions.
“Owen, he has puffy sleeves and I haven't heard his heartbeat.” Scott replied.
“Hmm well we have to catch the lumber jack alone then or with maybe one other witness, if he's not we can take him and whoever the other one is.” Cherri remarked.
“Fair but it's a bit risky to turn two humans at once for us to still be conspicuous." Scott replied.
“Oh come on, we'll be fine, and since when did you care about staying hidden??” Cherri questions.
“I don't want to, I want them to fear us like the good old days, but we have to be smart about this Cherri.” Scott says.
“Ugh- you're so boring, but fine we'll lay low.” Cherri responds.
“All we can do is wait till someone's dumb enough to be alone at night with us.” Scott remarked.
“I reckon we can convince someone to go exploring with us tonight.” Cherri replied.
_
Cherri and Scott make it back to Oakhurst not long after their chat.
“Perfect timing you two, care to join an exploration team tonight? We wanted to look for more of those beacon things.” Owen asked.
“But of course, who’s ‘we’ though.” Scott asked as Cherri nodded.
“Me and Pyro and now you and Cherri.” Owen replied.
“Perfect, see you tonight then.” Cherri remarked as she walked off to help Apo build their house, smiling at the fact her plan was going almost too well.
_
The sun had set beyond the trees of the forest surrounding Oakhurst and the expedition group all met up to leave.
“Is everyone ready?” Owen asked.
“Ready as I'll ever be!” Pyro replied, happy to be included, not knowing he was about to go out at night with three vampires.
“Indeed I am, let's get going.” Cherri remarked.
Not long after the party leaves Oakhurst, and ventures towards the Obelisks beacon and begins to turn it when Cherri thinks of something.
“Hey Pyro do you mind stepping away for just a moment?” Cherri asked.
“Sure!!.” Pyro replied, jumping down from the pillar the beacon was on and as soon as he was the beacon began to glow faintly red.
“Really both of you!!? Well I guess there's still Pyro and I'm the oldest so I get dibs.” Owen remarked.
“I think you're mistaken on that account!” Cherri remarked.
“I'm 200 years old.” Owen replied.
“Oh that's baby talk.” Scott laughed.
“HOW IS THAT BABY TALK!!” Owen hissed.
“Hmm try 16 hundred.” Scott replied.
“SIXTEEN HUNDRED!!??” Owen remarked flabbergasted.
“Indeed were both elder vampires.” Cherri giggled.
“Fine you get dibs but can I at least have a little nibble?” Owen asked
“Fine, go ahead.” Scott replied.
“UH- what are you talking about!?” Pyro asked.
“Who gets dibs on you silly.” Cherri giggled as owen pounced on Pyro, who began to bolt away.
“Wait, Wait we can talk about this!” Pyro exclaimed frantically as he was running.
“I don't believe we can Pyro.” Owen remarked as he got a hold of Pyro’s arm, drinking some of his blood as he pins him under the shallow water under the beacon.
“You two can take what's left turn him if you want.” Owen remarked still pinning Pryo as Scott quickly ran over to drink some of Pyro's blood and turn him.
“Welcome to the Family Pyro!” Cherri remarked with a eerie smile on her face as Pyro got up from the water.
“Sorry you didn't get any blood Cherri.” Scott remarked.
“Oh it's quite alright, Ive got someone else I want to drink from.” Cherri replied.
