Work Text:
Kanne yanked Lawine through the streets of Außerst, pulling her into random shops that caught her eye. Lawine had finally agreed to go shopping with her, and she wasn’t going to waste that chance.
“Lawine, look at these earrings!” She pointed to a pair of dangles made of a string of small raw amethysts.
“The stones are poor quality,” Lawine remarked. “Look at the dull color. Proper amethysts are a much deeper purple.”
“Ok, so who cares if they don’t meet your rich kid standards,” Kanne huffed. “I think they’re lovely.”
Lawine hummed dismissively. Kanne scoffed and stalked off to the next store. Just when she thought she was getting closer with Lawine, she went and said stuff like that. Honestly, she didn’t know why she still tried to be friends. Curse her stupid gay brain that wanted to hang out with the pretty girl.
“Kanne.” Lawine tapped her on the shoulder, interrupting her while she angrily flipped through a rack of dresses.
“What?” She glared at her.
“I apologize for offending you.” Lawine held up the pair of amethyst earrings. “Here are the earrings you liked.”
“Aww, Lawine!” Kanne tackled her in a hug. “You do care!”
Lawine stepped away from her. “Yes, well it is impolite to make someone upset on your first date with them.”
“Wait, date?!” No way that when Lawine agreed to go shopping with her, she’d meant it as a date!
“Yes?” She tilted her head in confusion. “I told you I wanted to go out to do something, just the two of us, in the evening. Was it not obviously a date?”
“You—you wanted a date with me?” Kanne stuttered.
“Of course,” Lawine said it like it was just a matter of fact. “You’re quite sweet.”
“I— sweet?”
