Amitie did things without fully thinking them through. Sometimes it was not thinking of the consequences while other times it was a spur of the moment idea she immediately acted on. Suddenly stopping her complaining about the stair setup as she and Sig were on a walk to turn and kiss him on the cheek? Definitely the latter.
The two stopped and stared at each other in shock. Sig because his best friend kissed him and Amitie because she just did that.
"Amitie?"
There were a number of thoughts crashing in Amitie's mind. The fact she kissed him, that even someone as dense as Sig probably definitely knew she liked him now, the fact she kissed him, that each second she didn't respond made things more awkard, the fact she kissed him, and more.
She decided to play it cool.
"Ehehe," Amitie laughed in a high, anxious pitch. She shot some finger guns at him. Finger guns were cool, right? Wait, no, playing it cool meant something else. She rose a finger, hoping a meaningful thought would come to her as she did. What did people say in situations like this? "Um, how about we circle back to this later?"
Then, with one last look at Sig's red and confused face, she turned around and ran. Face-first into a tree. She stumbled back, clasping her mouth and cringing in pain.
Sig stared at her blankly until he thought to ask, "Want me to kiss it and make it feel better?"
