Work Text:
The raven lands on his balcony railing, cawing at Jiaoqiu like it's expecting something from him.
He frowns as he opens the sliding glass door to shoo it away, but something stops him. Although he can no longer see more than some light and shadows, Jiaoqiu senses something…familiar about this bird. Like an old friend come to greet him.
"Moze?" He breathes, almost afraid that by speaking the name out loud, he'll disappear again.
He hasn't seen Moze in years, not since the Boursin attack on the Lafou. Jiaoqiu knows he always blamed himself for how he lost his vision—something that pisses him off to this day since it was his decision to drink the poison that killed Hoolay.
But it doesn't change the fact that he misses him every fucking day.
"Please, come back, Moze. I forgive you. I miss you. Feixiao misses you too. Please."
Although he cannot see it, he can sense the raven cocking its head at him, as if it understands the words. Maybe it does.
The raven caws one more time and takes off in a flutter of wings. All that's left behind is a single, black feather, and a feeling of deep emptiness.
