Chapter 1: "Where it all begins"

Chapter Text

Christine's childhood didn't have the experiences a typical child would have. Playing outside was rare. Making friends was near impossible. A creative mind?

Well she had that but not the parents who were appreciative of that creativity.

Her parents had her life planned out the minute she was born, gave her multiple career options that will make her successful in life, a breadwinner like her mom that is a lawyer, an achiever like her father who was in construction to build houses for the rich. .

But Christine didn't like any of the options given to her.

She only had one dream; To become a music artist, a singer who makes people connect with the songs she wrote but as expected her parents said that career is a “waste of time” and “won't get you anywhere in life”.

…Even burning her old song book in the process of telling her that.

So they chose an accounting career for her, something with numbers that they both knew she was good at, and she went to college for that major.

That whole time in college was unbearable, her parents kept her in state to keep an eye on her but not as much as she was able to make some friends that her parents approved of and have a boyfriend her parents CHOSE for her.

That relationship only lasted about. . . 4 months, he cheated on her because she wasn't fun.

How can you have fun when you don't have the privilege to do such a thing?

When she graduated, she decided to apply for an accounting job that was on the other side of the U.S., the one state she wanted to go to in the first place; Los Angeles California.

It took a lot of convincing and lying to have her parents agree to her leaving as long as she called which she agreed and immediately moved with the money she saved up while in college.

She got herself a one bedroom apartment and when she stepped in it was perfect for her, she paid her rent and security deposit and lived freely for the first time in years!

Though she was still doing a job her parents chose for her, she was fine with living far away from them. .

But she felt like she had given up on her own dream after being a brain slave to them for so long.

Until one day. . .

Christine was 22 and while walking in a mall with her coffee on her lunch break she spotted a man. He looked dapper to say the least, a red tux with black assets playing a piano with a crowd around it but she still could see his face.

He looked. . . Unique. Happy to be playing without getting paid at all to do so, only wanting to see people smile.

Christine wanted to sing a song so badly but her legs didn't move, not for a while until he spotted her, noticing a want in her eyes as he gestured her to come over and she did with all those eyes watching her.

“Hello young lady! Do you have a song request for me to play? I can play any song no problem.” He said with so much enthusiasm, it calmed her nerves a bit enough for her to loosen the grip on her coffee cup.

“Oh um. . If it's alright, can you play ‘Daydreamin?’ If it isn't any trouble” She exclaimed, the man looked so patient with her but so excited to take any request given to him.

“Oh that one is a classic, but it needs a singer. Would you care to join me?”

He asked and with a flick of his wrist a bedazzled microphone came out of thin air. . She was stunned but everyone around her was just excited for another song.

“Oh no I possibly couldn't I. . .”

She looked down at her badge, the one thing that gave her identity in the workplace but out here

. . . “Im only an accountant”.

She kept her eyes on her badge until she saw the man crouch to meet her gaze.

“That's what it says, but just because you're one thing doesn't mean you can't be another. Let me ask you a question; Is that what you wanted?” He pointed at said badge as he asked that.

She looked at him fully. . . For once in her life, someone had asked her what she wanted and that made her tear up.

She gripped onto her badge and shook her head in full honesty, the man gave her a smile and gently held her unoccupied hand.

“I could tell the minute I saw you, tell me Christine. . . What do you want to do?” He asked in the softest tone she has heard which made her cry only a bit more.

“I. . . I want. . . To sing. . From my heart”

The man smiled and held the microphone towards her as not just an invitation but as an opening to brighter days.

Christine wiped her eyes and took the microphone and stood next to the piano, and suddenly it started playing with the man giving her his signature smile before she started.

You walked in. . Got my attention

I've never seen a man with so much dimension.

It's the way you walk, the way you talk

The way you make me feel inside

It's in your smile, it's in your eyes

I don't wanna wait for tonight.

When Christine started singing, all the nerves she had left her, and her voice became so clear that it left people in awe.

She was singing from her heart, with emotion, with a feeling, a longing. . Something she wanted to do more than anything.

As the song concluded she took a few breaths before the roar of the crowd startled her to reality, she looked at the people around her and smiled before taking a bow and placing the mic back on the stand.

“Alright everyone! I must depart, thank you for listening and I will be back soon. My name is Caine and thank you for letting me play today!” The crowd applauded as Christine did the same. . .

Caine huh? Weird name, but today was fun while it lasted as she turned around and was about to leave, someone caught her hand and she turned to see it was Caine himself.

“My dear, I have an opportunity for you if you could wait just a moment?” Caine asked.

She looked at him and then looked at the time on her watch, she only had 5 minutes before the lunch break was over.

“Okay, but I really have to go after” she explained, he let go and handed her a business card.

“I run an agency for inspiring music artists; C&A Records. I wish to work with you on getting you to live a dream you want to live!”

Christine looked at the business card for what felt like a while, her mind was racing. .

This is the opportunity of a lifetime but she knew she would tell her parents and they wouldn't approve, a hand was over hers that broke her from those thoughts as she looked at Caine.

“No rush, if you decide to work with me just call this number and say the number 57. We will talk more about how the industry works and everything to get you up to speed on not only your music but your way to stardom!”

Caine snapped his fingers as his equipment was packed up in an instant and he walked past her and her eyes followed him.

“Wait! What are you?” She asked which made him stop and look at her again with a smile.

“Im just a fellow man that wants to help you live your childhood dreams”.

And with that he was gone. . . Pomni looked at the card again, but her watch was also in view and saw she needed to GO so she dashed out of the mall back to her job.

Today was as eventful as most, Christine got back home and immediately sat on her couch. Even with that one thing that made her happy, work was still a living hell.

As she took off her blazer, the business card fell out of her pocket and onto the ground and she looked at it, picked it up and set it on her coffee table.

She honestly stared at that card for almost 10 minutes, if she agrees to this it would make her dreams come true, if she doesn't it's the same old thing everyday.

“. . . Fuck it”.

She pulled out her phone and picked the card back up,dialing the number and putting the phone to her ear. It rang once, twice, a third time until suddenly.

“Hello this is C&A Records, what can I do for you?” The other person on the phone made her jump a bit but she knew she froze seconds before responding.

“Um. . . 57” . . . The line went silent for a bit until it went to hold, ‘that's rude’ she thought before a new voice chimed in.

“Christine! I'm glad you called!” She had to move the phone away from her ear cause man his vocal range can rupture an eardrum.

“How did you know I was calling?”

“Oh my dear, I don't give that number just to anyone. Now tell me, have you decided?” That question rang in her ear more than his voice. . Yeah it was rude of her to think that but she wouldn't say it out loud.

“I've decided, I want to join your agency” she said with as much confidence as she can muster.

“Splendid news! You are making the most amazing choice imaginable! Alright, we are going to go through the fundamentals before you sign anything.”

And we did so, he explained all the training I would do;

Dancing, acting, voice lessons, and media, it will take up all of her time meaning she would have to quit her current job but he reminded her that her living accommodations will be paid for her and lastly the fun part for him, thinking of her stage name, her signature colors, working on her signature and at least 5 songs she can prepare to sing as they work their way up.

“Do you have any questions so far?” Caine asked, she thought about everything that was said in case anything felt off but surprisingly he knew what he was doing so she said no.

“Amazing! Now, let's start with your stage name. Do you have any suggestions? If not I will give you some options to choose from”

Christine thought about it for a while since picking a stage name, something that signified her and her growth as a star, as easy as it may seem thinking of a name was hard.

“Do you have any suggestions?” She asked, in a blink of an eye a scroll appeared in front of her that made her jump out of her seat.

“I always have a list just in case! Go ahead and take your time picking one, this is a very special moment as it's the start of who you will be” Caine exclaimed happily as Christine read through the list.

None of the names spoke out to her in the beginning until she went halfway through the list and saw a very unique name “Pomni”.

Something made her remember when her grandmother told her this word before, like it had a meaning that she really liked and always remembered.

“I like the name Pomni” she had the phone on speaker now as a feather pen was floating in the air.

She hesitated before grabbing it and circling the name, the scroll disappeared after that and another popped up.

“Next is signature colors, you have to pick 3 in order to make it known for brand deals.” He paused before continuing

“and yes, it can be your favorite colors but note for every training and performance wear you will be provided those outfits so pick colors you wont get tired of”.

Christine circled red, blue and yellow since those were the colors she liked all through her school years.

She was never a pink person with bows and stuff but she still knew how to dress after she got to college thanks to a couple of people she met.

The final scroll was the contract she was waiting for. . . She read through everything, making sure this guy wasn't trying to screw her over.

And after reading and everything was what he had told her, she wrote her signature on the dotted line. . .

The scroll glowed and rose up until it popped into gold confetti.

Congratulations!!! Welcome to C&A, you made the right choice. . And I see some magical talent within you Pomni. Everything else including your resignation form for your job is already taken care of, we will be in touch, bye bye now!”

And with that, he hung up. . She really signed up for an agency, she couldn't believe she did that!

She felt so incredibly happy, she laid down on the couch and smiled but she knew that its just starting and she's going to work hard to achieve her dream.

The only thing she was worrying about now, was how to tell her parents, and as good timing, her phone rang again and she saw it was her mom.

She sat up and looked at the card again, she took a deep breath before answering.

“Honey! It's been a while, we missed you so much over here” every call always started like this, happy until the conversation kept on.

“Umma, I'm doing okay. Work has just been. . . Work” Christine didn't take her eyes off the card, not even for a moment. Did she really want to tell her?

“That's great dear, I'm just checking in like I always do making sure you're eating and working very hard to succeed in life!”

And there it was. . .

The real reason she called; to make sure I'm still doing what they wanted.

She picked up the card and twirled it in her fingers, maybe it's better that she doesn't know this. . Not until she gets her name out there, Pomni. . Not sure how long that will stick.

“I'm doing good, but I am kind of tired but I got a promotion” hearing her mother squeal and jump for joy.

“That's wonderful news dear! Don't let me keep you awake. I will talk to you soon, I love you ttal.”

“Love you too, goodnight” she hung up and dropped her phone on the couch. . .

Just one lie, how long would that last? She had been awake for too long as she stood up, only to hear the sound of crumpling under her feet as she realized the confetti was still there.

“Fuck i have to clean this up too?”

3 years later

It had been 3 years since she signed up with C&A and for Christine it was very eventful. . .

All the training she had to do, she got more comfortable, made real friends, went out and actually lived for the first time in years, she feels more alive than she's ever been.

At age 23, she wrote 3 songs and got someone to produce them for her and published them online but they only got little traction but it was fine as long as people viewed them.

She had to make a new Instagram to help with her brand which she also had to hide from parents and certain people from home that were spies for them.

She even performed for small venues that Caine could get for her which she didn't mind, she went to showcases and performed, any opportunity Caine could get she accepted.

But today, a lot changed.

Sundays were Christine's only day off, and she spent them sleeping until it was the late afternoon and made an agreement with Caine that he wouldn't bother her on her day off.

While sleeping the curtains in her room flew open which woke her up, she pulled the covers over her head as Caine popped out with confetti.

“Rise and shine Pomni!!!” He yelled, Christine sat up and her hair was a bird's nest.

“Caine… we agreed that on Sunday's you don't bother me, and it's…” she paused as she reached for her phone to turn it on. “11:30 in the morning”

Caine was already fixing her hair as she yawned, this was a normal thing he does every morning for her since he would always insist, but after she just lets him do whatever. This time, he braided her hair into two braids.

“I know, but today is very special and I promise it isn't another surprise practice” He explained as he put rubber bands at the end of her braids and then floated in front of her.

“... Can I at least have breakfast first?” She asked as she stretched, Caine only nodded and went to the kitchen like he already planned something.

Christine got up and put on her slippers, her robe and went to the kitchen to see that there was already a big breakfast on the table… okay weird.

“Okay, 1; what's all this? And 2; what did I do? If it's about what happened in Vegas it should've stayed in Vegas” She sat at the dining table while Caine placed her coffee cup in front of her before he sat down himself.

“1; I can be kind, 2; Nothing but Vegas you are still not in the clear from that, and 3…”

He slid over a folder to her, Christine looked at it then at him as he took a sip of his coffee.

“Open that and find out”

Christine picked up the folder, it felt light but heavy from Caine's words. She took a deep breath and opened it.

The first thing she saw was an agency name; “K&Q International Music Agency”.

She knew of that agency, it was run by a couple who were both stars back in the day, she kept reading until she read a small sentence.

‘We want Pomni to be an opener for “The Abstracts” for today's music festival’ she looked at Caine, shocked as he gave her a smile as she stood up almost immediately.

“An opener?! I've never opened for a worldwide band, I haven't been an opener at all! How? And…oh my god” Christine was rambling at this point before Caine intercepted.

“They're really close friends of mine, and I decided to pull some strings so you can open for them and show them what you could do, but before any of that you must eat so we can go over the band, costume and picking a song”

Caine finished his coffee and was about to poof before she grabbed his hand which caught his attention.

“... Thank you Caine” she said while smiling, Caine returned the smile before he went to prepare everything, oh my god she was going to open for a very popular band!

After she ate and cleaned up, the first thing she did was research about the band while drinking her coffee.

She already knew them from the magazines but in order to be on good terms with them only for a day she had to know at least a little right?

Zooble: They are the drummer of the band but they also play other instruments, they are also the laid-back one of the group.

They joined The Abstracts when they had a training period and they liked them for not only their ability to keep up, but also their true honesty and knew when they had to speak up or not…and can break up a fight before it even begins.

Ribbit: The pianist and violinist can also play the harp and the bass. She was a soloist like Christine is but after a couple years the company recruited her.

She rejected them at first because she had a lot of representation but was fine singing for small venues but after a while she joined the group after the convincing of the lead singer and guitarist…

Jax: The leader who started it all, his mother is an actress and his father is the PR department, he started off small until his grandparents opened up their own agency and he made the calls for everything.

He has the reputation of being edgy and mean to people who push when they don't need to.

He speaks his mind a lot, can get into people's heads but to him it was competition, it's how the industry works.

Christine kept that in mind in case he tried that, when she was finished Caine was back with an outfit he had saved for her first ever big debut.

It was called “Carnival Star” because it not only fit her theme, but it had her assets she described with a bit more white.

A high performance outfit that blends circus glamor, idol fashion and harlequin motifs that helps her make the stage her own.

Her bodice was a satin corset style top in royal blue with a striking crimson red center panel with a sweetheart neckline trimmed with white scalloped edging.

It had white puffed sleeves finished with red satin cuffs that are good for arm movements and dance breaks, a harlequin waistband with a bold black and white diamond pattern which definitely fits the carnival vibes.

A draped overskirt with an asymmetrical blue ruffle that wrapped diagonally across the skirt layered with a carousel skirt, what was unique about the skirt were that there were horses dangling on the bottom of it.

Beneath it lies a striped underskirt in red, white and yellow, vertical stripes reminiscent of circus tents and festival banners and underneath white tulle to make it fluffy.

“Something simple yet unique for now, if not we can pick something else-”

Christine held the dress as she cut him off

“No! No I love it, it fits what I wanted, but what about makeup? I'm not gonna do a full face of white paint am I?” she asked as she felt around the fabric and messed with the charms.

“No, that one time was at an actual festival, Pomni. This time it's a music festival so the first look matters especially since the committee knows your theme already. For now, you have 7 hours to prepare, practice and pick a song that you want to sing. I know it's your day off today but this will help you a lot”

Caine gave his final remarks before he disappeared leaving confetti that she had to clean up… again.

“At least get rid of the confetti!” she yelled to no one but only sighed as she was not going to spend the rest of the day preparing to perform.

The evening approached faster than expected as she and Caine pulled up to the festival, Pomni was already dressed but she had to wear a black cloak around it to hide it.

How long has it been since she went to one?

Sadly Coachella doesn't count because the lineup was terrible the last time she went.

They got out of the car and went in, walking to the stage she was going to perform on, and holy hell it's huge!

“Oh you must be Pomni!” I turned my head to see a middle aged lady dressed so sophisticated, she also looked super nice.

Beside her was also a middle aged man, they were dressed similarly but he wore royal purple, while she wore a radiant red.

“Kinger! Queenie! Good seeing you again old friends” Caine went up and shook their hands in a weird manner but they were used to it.

“Caine, hope you've been well. Oh I'm sorry , where are my manners?” The woman came over to her with her hand out.

“Hello Pomni, you can call me Queenie. And this is my husband, Kinger” the man waved at her as she shook Queenie's hand.

She reciprocated the hand shake “Nice to meet you both”

Queenie smiled and guided her backstage, there she was met with the band themselves getting ready for their set…and lord Christine was nervous.

“Guys! I'd like you all to meet your opener for tonight; Pomni” All three of them looked at her which made her tense up but she gave a short wave nonetheless.

“This is Zooble, their drummer” Zooble gave a simple nod before going back to their set.

Their hair was multiple colors, green, black with a bit of pink, it fits them perfectly

“Ribbit, Bass for tonight but they play many instruments” Queenie gestured to her as she waved.

“Hey there! Nice to meet you!” She said with a smile, she had brown hair with an ombre of green at the bottom, their makeup was so whimsy and free with the amount of glitter on her eyes.

“And this-”

“Why do we need an opener again? We can just play the set” a voice cut in as a tall lengthy man stepped forward.

Christine was able to get a good look at him, and she could admit in her mind he was handsome, he had brown hair with his ends dyed with a lavender purple, hazel eyes, freckles that look like you could draw constellations on them, he was covered in tattoos, some that even Christine thought were a bit funny to look at.

"We already talked about this, we require one because someone made the set list to have multiple effects we have to rig up. and that's Jax, main lead and guitarist” Queenie explained.

He scoffed as he went back to mess with his guitar.

“Um, nice to meet you all” Christine bowed a bit, it was a greeting her mother taught her so it was normal.

“Go ahead and get ready, your small vanity is right over there. Break a leg kiddo” Caine pats on her shoulder before him, Kinger and Queenie left to chat.

Chris did as she was told, went over to her vanity and sat down, taking off the cloak to reveal her performance outfit then she pulled out her make-up.

“Wow I love your outfit!” Ribbit had walked over to get a better look as Chris turned to look at her.

“Oh, thanks. Caine made it for me i-”

“Pft, what are you supposed to be a jester or something? This ain't the circus toots.”

Jax cut her off as he stood up, setting his guitar down, what annoyed Christine was his shit eating grin, she knew that look very well from other guys.

“Don't be a dick, Jax.” Zooble chimed in.

“What? Just being honest, all she needs is a hat with bells on the ends and she would fit the part.” he chuckled at his own remark.

Christine was starting to feel insecure about her outfit as she fidgeted with one of the horses…maybe this outfit was stupid.

“And you would look very good in those bunny ears I bought on our last hiatus trip along with that outfit.”

Jax body froze and looked at Zooble who was smirking

“You wouldn't.” he deadpanned

“Leave her be and I won't, Ribbit and I both know you aren't a pansy so unless you dont wanna wear it again, keep your mouth shut.”

Ribbit let out a little laugh before Jax walked away angrily then it turned into a big one. “Oh that was rich! I'm surprised you still remember that.”

Zooble turned to Christine before placing a hand on her shoulder.

“Don't let him get to you, he's always been an ass. I think your outfit looks really cool.” Zooble gave a smile which made her feel better.

“Yeah, he will warm up eventually. I mean if you read the tabloids he's always like this with new people.” Ribbit added as she stood on the other side of Pomni.

“Thank you” she said softly.

Queenie popped her head in to tell her she had 15 minutes as they all nodded.

“Let me help you with your makeup” Ribbit pulled up a chair as Zooble went back to what they were doing as Ribbit worked her magic.

“You know, I never seen anyone look good in this style, it fits you perfectly.” Ribbit smiled as she said that.

“Really? Thanks.”

“Have you thought of any other styles with your theme?”

That made her think for a minute, she would think of styling it more to fit her but the dress she was wearing was amazing. It gave her many ideas.

“Maybe, did you have any in mind?”

Ribbit stopped for a sec. “You're asking me?”

“I'm open to ideas.” Christine smiled as Ribbit continued.

“If it were me, definitely a bodysuit with black glittery leggings, I can draw a sketch for you if you want, free of charge!” Ribbit started spraying the setting spray as Christine nodded.

“Alright! What do you think?”

As she opened her eyes, she was amazed that her make up fits her outfit, one eye was blue the other red with gold sparkles and sparkly eye liner.

“This is amazing! Thank you!” She smiled brightly as Queenie came in.

“They're ready for you Pomni.”

That made her have a lump in her throat as she stood up and went behind the curtain to take a peak and god it was a lot of people.

“You can chicken out now, it's a stupid option but a good one.”

She turned her head to see Jax who leaned against some speakers smirking. She looked back before gulping and taking a breath before turning her head to him smiling.

“Nah, I'm good.”

That made his smirk falter just a bit, he only rolled his eyes and went back to his friends.

She took one last breath before she grabbed the microphone smiling and walking out onto the stage.

“Hello Everyone!!!”

The crowd went a bit silent but others cheered still, she walked the crowd very closely as they had their phones out, recording her but she still kept a smile.

“Im Pomni, and yeah i know you're like ‘who is she? Where's the band?’ ”

The crowd laughed at that and that made her smile more.

“Don't fret, they're preparing a special set for you guys but for now. Let me entertain you with a song I wrote, so here's my song; Brutus.”

She turned around to face the screen as the song started with an acapella verse before she turned back around and started singing.

You're interesting, you're different, oh, you're neat

You got people lining up to kiss your feet

You're the talk of every town, they can't keep quiet

You're an obsessive revolutionary riot.

The words came out clear, the crowd started to sway to the beat and Christine decided to take it up a notch and started clapping to the beat while singing as many followed, what they didn't expect was when she pulled out a fencing sword and on the other side of the stage, a girl in fencing gear comes out prepping her sword to fight.

But if speaking honestly, I wish I had your life.

Oh if im speaking honestly, I wish I had your life.

She had practiced with this for a while as she started fencing with the girl, giving the crowd some action.

The crowd was going crazy as it continued, the song was going so well and Christine felt like a superstar.

As the song ended, it ended with her beating her opponent and stepping on her waist with her white boot, acting like it worked up a sweat for her, which it did as the crowd roared for her winning the duel that was definitely staged but hey it was cool to them.

“Thank you so much!!! I know you're as excited as I am!! This is Pomni signing off. Give it up for The Abstracts!!!!”

She waved before dragging the actor to the back with her until they weren't seen.

“Whew! That was fun, thanks for letting me join you for that fight!” The girl explained as she stood up dusting herself off.

“No problem, see you soon for another duel?”

The girl smiled “Definitely, later Chris.” she walked off as she went to the back.

By the time she got back there the band was already on stage, Caine ran over and hugged her, picking her up and twirling her around.

“That was phenomenal Pomni!! All that work paid off beautifully.” he puts her down and rests his hands on her shoulders. “I'm proud of you kiddo.”

Those words made her tear up, he gave her a tissue to wipe her tears.

“That was an amazing show, Pomni!” Kinger and Queenie went up to them while smiling as Queenie was also holding something in her hand.

“Thank you for this opportunity, both of you.” she smiled as she looked back at Caine. It was fun while it lasted but it was a memory she wouldn't forget.

“If it isn't any trouble, would you mind staying a little longer after their set?”

Christine looked at her a bit confused

“Oh, okay. I can stay for a little while.”

“Great, thank you.” Queenie and Kinger walked off as she looked at Caine confused.

“You're hiding something.”

“Whatever so you mean Pomni?” He gives that smile, when he keeps surprises from her.

She looked at him skeptical but she lets it slide for now.

After about an hour or so the set ended with Jax giving final remarks.

“Thank you Los Angeles!!! Have a good night, suckers!” Jax yelled as the crowd got louder as they left the stage.

While they were talking, they all collectively saw that Caine and Christine were still here along with Kinger and Queenie.

“What's she still doing here?” Jax asked while putting down his guitar and crossed his arms.

“I actually asked for her to stay for a while and I'm glad you guys finished just in time.”

Queenie walks up to Christine and crouches in front of her, holding both of her hands.

“Pomni my dear, Kinger and I would like to ask you a very important question.”

“Okay, what is it?”

“Would you do me and Kinger the honor of being the official opener for the band?”

Christine's mouth gaped open to that request…did she hear that correctly?

W-What?

“What?!”

She looked at the group who was also shocked, different kinds. Zooble's was a regular kind of shock, Ribbit was a happy kind of shock but Jax…

His was a mixture of anger and disbelief.

“You…you can't be serious right? You watched her perform once and you automatically decided she will open for us?!” Jax got closer to her as she took tiny steps back until Queenie pushed him away a bit.

Jax.” Queenie said in a stern tone, which made Jax step back and cross his arms again.

“It's actually a good question, why did you choose her after seeing her perform once?” Zooble asked with honesty as they looked at Queenie for an answer.

“I've watched Pomni since she first started.” she paused as she turned to Christine.

“That day at the mall, when you performed with Caine, you were right where you wanted to be and I've heard you worked your way up to now. And I would like to give you this opportunity, if you'll have it.”

Queenie pulled out the folder she kept in her hands with the contract and gave it to her. Christine opened it and read through it.

It's a 6 month contract where not only she would open for the band, but if anyone wanted to feature her in magazines and brand deals it would be credited for theirs and Caine's company, going down to the signature to see that Caine already signed off on it.

She looked at him as he chuckled.

“Surprise! This one is your choice Pomni, so what would it be?”

“Obviously no! Like are you kidding me?”

They all looked at Jax as he ran his fingers through his hair while laughing in disbelief.

“You'll say no right? I mean, you survived on that stage for sure, but you think you could survive on the arena stages?”

“What if I can? What's your problem with me? I just met you!”

“That's exactly the point! You waltz in here and automatically get a contract like a prim and proper princess. I bet you had everything given to you since birth right?”

Christine was shocked at his words, how could he accuse her of getting what she wanted…

When this was the first time in years she finally could think for herself?

“Jax seriously lay off, you may be the leader sure, but this is Pomni’s decision, not yours.” Ribbit pushed Jax away from Christine a bit as Zooble joined in.

“You don't want to start this with a girl that's shorter than you, either suck it up or go to the van and wait for us.”

Jax grunted and walked away to the van as everyone's eyes followed him until he wasn't in their line of sight, she didn't realize it but Christine was gripping onto the folder a bit too hard.

“Pomni?”

She looked up to see Ribbit and Zooble in front of her, with their reassuring smiles.

“What's your decision? Care to join us for these 6 excruciating months?” Zooble joked.

She looked down at the contract and she knew what her goal was, but now she has another goal; proving Jax wrong.

“Does anyone have a pen?”

Caine snapped his fingers as a feather pen pooped in mid air, she grabbed it and signed not her real name…but the name she will be using from now on; Pomni.

She gave the contract back to Queenie as she smiled at her.

“Thank you Pomni, the concert happens in June, and we will be in training mode until that month arrives, weeks of practice and anything you need let me, Kinger or Caine know. Welcome to the tour.” Queenie held her hand out once again.

Pomni smiled as she shook Queenie's hand, smiling brightly.

“Welcome to the tour, Newbie.” Zooble pats Pomni's shoulder as Ribbit smiles before they both head to the van, waving goodbye.

Reality immediately struck as Pomni stopped holding her breath and let out a deep inhale.

“I…I can't believe I did that!”

Caine steadied her as he sat her down.

“Your dream is beginning Pomni, you decided it on your own.”

“I did, didn't I?”

Pomni choked on a sob as she started to wipe the tears running down her face.

“I know, a lot isn't it?” Caine conjured up tissues as he gave them to Pomni.

She nodded as she grabbed one to wipe her tears with the tissue.

“Now, because this is big, I'm giving you this week off, you deserve the rest before what Jax and the others will put you through afterwards.”

Caine stood her up as they went to the car to drive back to her house.

Pomni didn't know what would happen in the next 6 months, but she knew that she would have fun with what she loves…

Alongside dealing with a guy who already hated her guys but she could handle him…right?
