Prerequisite for the job

Summary:

To say Clint barton was suffering would be an understatement of epic proportions.
Matthew murdock-AKA evil smok'in hot ex- waltzed right into the avengers team meeting (something about bad publicity, who knows), and declared himself and Nelson their newly appointed lawyers.
Cue Tony's poorly disguised flirting, Natashas telepathic-esk tendencies, Pepper Potts rethinking her life choices, and one Matt murdock having the time of his life

Chapter Text

Of all the things Clint Barton could have imagined this morning- Matthew Murdock walking into the avengers team meeting was not one of them.

It all started with Pepper Potts(CEO extraordinaire, and the only intelligent being in the avengers tower), having to find someone to defend the avengers team as a whole from this new case against them. As typical for her job though, there is something making it harder then it should rationally be.

See, Tony Stark had this terrible habit of flirting, and usually, sleeping with members of his legal team. Apparently he has a thing for the briefcases, or maybe its the attitude. Whatever it is, she's had enough.

So, she's began her search for respectable, trustworthy, and upstanding new members for the avengers legal team. She had her assistants procure a list of lawyers and know-it-alls. She found several decent candidates, 2 Harvard graduates, and two good-doer lawyers from Hells Kitchen. Nelson and murdock, sounds nice she thought. They have a good track record, especially with the fisk case, and a majority of their cases are pro-bono. Hiring them will go over great with the public, but, theres one tiny little problem- Murdock seems to be some sort of adonis. With his glossy red hair, pouty lips, and apparent chiseled physique, hes sure to be ran off by Tony.

Now, typically, considering looks when hiring is unethical, and unfair. But considering the situation, Pepper deemed it a necessary precaution.

"What to do what to do..." Pepper muttered, making chicken scratches at the top of their resume.

Ah, what hell- whats the worst that can come of it? A new lawsuit, they have lawyers for that. She though as she picked up the phone to recruit them.
