Rosalina was beautiful. She had Yuno’s dark hair but Asta's green eyes. The day she was born Asta felt nothing but happiness. What followed after Asta couldn’t described as such.
Yuno had started acting weird. Not around Rosalina no never around her but around Asta.
Anytime Yuno and he were in the same room the other would simply look away directing his attention to something other than Asta. Whether it be Rosalina or a loose screw on the crib. Yuno couldn’t look at Asta for more than five seconds.
Asta had to admit it hurt. He found himself looking into mirrors more. Studying his face and body as he passed them. Sure pregnancy changed people and he could see a few differences in himself.
He hadn’t put much thought into them because to him they were like battle scars in their own way, a reminder of what he went through and as he looked at his daughter he felt happy that his body had changed.
It should be proof of his and Yuno’s love for each other and it showed that Rosalina was real and something people could ignore. Asta wasn’t so sure that Yuno loved him anymore. His scent and face never gave anything away but Asta knew Yuno. They had grown up together for god sake! So why didn’t he look at him?
It was late at night and Asta had woken up because his baby was crying. If he was being honest the sound was annoying and he would do anything to make it stop.
That came in the form of picking up Rosalina and breastfeeding her on the rocking in the nursery. Rosalina had finally gone to sleep and Asta was left to his own thoughts.
His mind drifted to the month prior when he had decided to let Sister Lily take care of Rosalina for a week. It took a lot of convincing but Asta had agreed.
The words the beta had said were on repeat in his head.
“ Enjoy your time with Yuno “ She said. It was an innocent statement if it wasn’t for the fact that she had winked at him after words which most certainly confirmed that there was a hidden meaning behind her words.
That was the problem. During the whole week Yuno was working and had been forced to stay late. On the day that he managed to come home early he was exhausted.
Any advances Asta made during that time were harshly rejected.The alpha would turn away and leave the room completely.
Asta’s heart broke every time plunging him into despair. He was sure he had done something wrong and his mind had been working against him ever since.

An alpha like Yuno is wasting time with you

Asta scowled as he put Rosalina back in her crib. A thought ran through his mind that filled him with guilt
If you hadn’t had her Yuno would still love you
Asta backed out of the room quickly, his eyes wild as he looked around trying to see if someone was playing a cruel joke on him. Guilt overcame him as he slid down the wall, his eyes stinging with tears.
You look pathetic
No wonder alpha doesn’t want anything to do with you

There was something wrong with Yuno. Like seriously wrong. Ever since his daughter was born he’s had this urge. Everytime he looked at Asta he wanted nothing more than to pin him in place and give him another pup.
His brilliant idea to combat his problem was simple.
Don’t look at Asta
Anytime he would be nursing their child he would either not engage or just look around the nursery when the need to be close to his mate was too high.
Watching Asta feed their daughter felt like a privilege because the moment seemed sacred. He couldn’t stop the thought of wanting to move his daughter out of the way and take her place.
He imagined the way Asta would look at him as he relieved the pressure from his chest. Fuck he would taste so good.
“Captain?” Mimosa questioned as Yuno had failed to answer her question. Shit he was in the middle of a meeting he needed to get his shit together.
“ Excuse me, please proceed there’s an urgent matter I need to attend to elsewhere” Yuno said
Yuno rushed out of the meeting room and towards his private office. His comrades looked at him as he went but none of them were brave enough to face their captain when he looked so determined.
When he reached his office door he closed it quickly making sure to lock it as he rested his forehead on the door. He took a breath to calm himself down.
As he opened his eyes he found himself tenting in pants. As arousal flooded through him he thought about the change in Asta's body.
The muscle was replaced by soft tissue that he wanted to grab. His chest had grown slightly to accommodate the need to breastfeed Rosalina. Yuno found himself wanting to massage them on more than one occasion when his mate groaned in discomfort.
Still he couldn’t bring himself to act on his urges even when his mate was so clearly desperate for it in fear of hurting once more.
The birth wasn’t complicated but still he couldn’t forget the ways Asta screamed in his voice was hoarse throughout the delivery.
He couldn’t make him go through that again just because he couldn’t control himself. Never again.

Asta was spiraling and the sound of Rosalina’s crying had become unbearable. His eyes welled with tears as he tried desperately to quiet her down but she wouldn’t.
You can’t even take care of her
You are an awful mother
An awful mate too
Yuno should take her and get away from you
Asta was so done with everything. The looks of pity that he received and the lack of them from Yuno was driving them crazy. He was pent up and he couldn’t catch a break.
“ What do you want from me! I’ve done everything right! Why don’t you just leave me alone!” Asta yelled, causing Rosalina to cry even harder.
Just then Asta heard the front door open as rage overtook his scent. Yuno appeared in the door and quickly took Rosalina from Asta arms.
She quieted down in her father arms. Asta didn’t miss the fact that Yuno had completely ignored him. He also didn’t miss the way Rosalina had stopped crying almost instantly.
See Yuno probably thinks you are useless you couldn’t even get her to calm down .
Asta let out a grudged sigh before leaving the room. Taking with him his scent of anger and distress. As he walked out he passed Yuno noticing the slight arousal in his scent as his heart broke.
He already found someone else
He doesn't want or need you anymore
“Asta!” Yuno called out, grabbing the omegas arm to get him to stop.
Asta ripped his arm away from him looking up to finally catch the alphas gaze.
“ Now you want to look at me?Now that I’m a mess!” Asta yelled his scent growing stronger as Yuno looked at him confused
“ Just do it already, quit leading me on!” The tears were flowing now as Asta was growing frustrated
“ Do what?” Yuno asked if he was confused and his heart broke watching his mate spiral with out being able to do anything.
“ Just leave me!
I know you want to!
You can’t even stand the sight of me anymore!
You probably think I’m disgusting” Asta yelled, his voice growing quieter as he grew exhausted. He slid down the wall. He hugged his knees as Yuno stood still processing.
As the feelings finally clicked Yuno threw himself on his knees letting out his calming scent to stop his mate from fainting.
“ What are you talking about? Why would I leave you?” Yuno said as he looked at Asta
The tears had stopped flowing as heard. Asta faced him, eyes still blazing as Yuno felt something familiar in his gut.
Shit if he gets hard now he’ll just look pathetic
“ Because I’m not good enough anymore. Look at me I gained weight and lost all the muscle I had.I look disgusting ” Asta said as he motioned to all of him as Yuno took a deep breathe but before he could do anything Asta continued
“ Besides you probably already found someone better “ he said, mumbling the last part a bit as if he didn’t want Yuno to hear it.
“ Look at me Asta, I’m not going anywhere and you are not disgusting. You are beautiful and nothing will change that “
“ Yeah then why the hell haven’t you looked at me since Rosalina was born?” Asta asked as Yuno’s faced flushed
“ I can’t say. It embarrassing “ Yuno said
“ Please I’m over here all snot nosed you don’t think I’m embarrassed “ Asta said laughing lightly
The compliment did something to him. After being neglected for so long his omega preened at the idea that there alpha didn’t hate them like they thought.
“ You look hot okay. Everytime I looked at you I felt this urge to breed you again right then and give you another pup to look after, to smile at
The only way I could control myself was to not look at you.
I refuse to hurt you again” Yuno explained as Asta stared at him
“ Yuno what are you talking about you haven’t hurt me “ Asta said scooting closer to his mate
“ I did, if I had just been able to control myself. You wouldn’t have suffered so much during the delivery “ Yuno said
“ Yuno, everyone who chooses to have children goes through that. I was one of the lucky ones that was able to have a natural birth without any complication “
“ So you are telling me you haven’t looked at me for over a month because it made you horny” Asta said, circling back to what Yuno had initially said.
“ WOW you actually put it together “ Yuno teased as Asta scoffed
“ still can’t believe you thought you hurt “ Asta said poking Yunos ' cheek.
“ Here I thought you didn’t love me anymore,” Asta said light-heartedly. The mode shifted at Asta’s comment as Yuno turned to face him.
“ Don’t ever think that again, not even for a second. I love you and I won’t stop proving it “ Yuno said as Asta stared
“ Alright then Alpha why don’t we satisfy those urges of yours yeah” Asta said as his scent turned heavy.
