Just in: On the morning of November 1, 2025, actor Hayakawa Aki and idol ANGEL★ released a joint statement revealing they have been in a relationship for an undisclosed amount of time. The announcement was made following the dating allegations between ANGEL★ and actor Touya Denji that circulated around October. Mr. Touya also released a separate statement denying any involvement with the idol. JUMP News have reached out to their agencies but have yet to receive a response.

“We’re here!” One girl said.
“Oh my gosh, I’m so excited! I’ve always wanted to go to his live show.” The other girl squeed.
“I hope he’ll sing Parallel Hearts.” The guy behind them added.
“Yes! I love that song!” Both girls gushed at the same time.
“WOO ANGEEELLL!!! LET’S GOOOOOO!!!”
“Be quiet. Someone might recognize you.”
Denji groaned. “Dude, this place is loud as shit! No one’s gonna know!”
“Doesn’t mean you get to be careless,” said Aki matter-of-factly. “And couldn’t you pick a different disguise? You’re drawing attention to yourself.”
Denji scoffed under the stupid cartoon chicken mask he wore over his head. “Mind you, this is Angel’s management team’s mascot. Angel himself drew this. Thought you would’ve known.” He heavily emphasized on the last sentence, Aki rolled his eyes. “It’s really hot under here, though.”
“Yeah, no shit. It’s fucking July.”
Unlike Denji, Aki was equipped with sunglasses, face mask, and a baseball cap, his hair was tied into a low ponytail. A simple yet effective disguise that also served to avoid the glaring sun. He’d listened to Angel’s complaint about his manager picking an outdoor venue for his summer concert, despite all of the past live shows having taken place indoors. He recalled comforting his partner, saying it wouldn’t be that bad.
Aki had never been more wrong.
Sweat was sticking to his face, bangs and the back of his shirt, Denji’s electric handheld fan did not help. It was nearly suffocating to breathe through the face mask, made worse by how packed the venue was, with everyone constantly moving and shoving each other to get the best view. Aki had been incredibly lucky to have found a decent spot in the middle row. The only downside was stumbling upon Denji.
(No, he had not arrived here with Denji, had never intended to. Aki had been given a free ticket from Angel whereas Denji had paid with his own pocket after failing to use the “boyfriend’s best friend” card. Chances of them crossing paths in a venue with over ten thousand people should be zero, but here they were. Power couldn’t come because she was attending a convention overseas.)
Although, seeing Angel’s fans around chanting his name, wearing his merchandise, holding up lightsticks and plushies and acrylic stands,... all brought a smile to Aki's face. Idol fans could be a lot - he’d heard horror stories - but he hoped Angel knew just how loved he was, that there were genuine people who kept on supporting him even after all the troubles he’d gone through.
How long had it been since their relationship announcement? Aki could still remember it vividly. Their social media posts had garnered so much attention that they’d made headlines within the first hour. And yet, despite his fears, they’d received many congratulatory messages from colleagues and fans alike wishing them happiness. There were, of course, a portion that hadn’t taken it well, angered at the thought of their favourite celebrities being “unavailable”, but they were a minority and easy to ignore. Those were miserable people, their opinions didn’t matter to Angel and Aki. Still, their management had taken extra measures on security to ensure both their safety.
A lot had happened ever since. They’d moved in together and met each other’s families, they’d found ways to navigate life on top of their careers. They had that romance show, yes, but their schedules hadn’t been aligning other than that. There were days where Angel stayed in the studio until near midnight, some had Aki taking up successive roles to the point his whole week was booked. But they made a great team, continuously supporting each other through all of it, thick and thin. Aki always knew that, at the end of the day, he had Angel to look forward to, to have him in his arms and in bed after a hard day's work for both.
“Hey, I wonder if that actor is here. The one Angel is dating.”
Aki’s breath hitched.
“Excuse me, he isn’t ‘that actor’. That’s freaking Hayakawa Aki, dude!”
“I heard they were spotted at a convenience store last night. He’s probably around here somewhere.”
“Man, life is so unfair. How come the two hottest people on Earth are dating each other? I don’t even know who I’m more jealous of.”
“But they are good together. Have you seen that live stream for their romance show? They kept teasing and blushing at each other. It was so cute! That poor actress having to sit in the middle, though…”
“Heh, they’re talking about you.” Denji nudged his elbow, tilting his head towards a group of teens blissfully unaware of the actor they were chatting about right behind them.
Aki choked. “I just heard.” The face mask did wonders to hide the blush on his cheeks, but also trapped much of the heat there. It was annoying. “Quiet down. Don’t blow my cover.”
“I told you, no one’s gonna notice. They’re all gonna look at Angel anyway. Is this your first time going to a concert or something?”
“Yes.”
“Oh?” Denji let out, sounding genuinely surprised. “Well, that explains a lot.”
“I don’t see the appeal. It’s too crowded,” he said just as someone walked past him, pushing against his arm. He ignored the guy. “But I made a promise to attend all of Angel’s shows from now on. It’s easier said than done, but I want to be there for him.” The last part was said with utmost tenderness as he looked up to the stage, eager to see the beauty he got to call his boyfriend.
Denji snorted. “Simp.” Whatever the hell that meant.
When his watch indicated 6 pm, Aki had his lightsticks ready, one in each hand. Denji was being extra by showing off his full set of merchandise. Everyone was buzzing, watching in awe as Angel’s name slowly appeared on the giant screen. The music band got into position, signaling the beginning.
“SUMMER OF… LOVE!!!”
Water shot out from the stage raining down on the audience, cooling the hot summer air. The crowd erupted into cheers when their beloved idol emerged from backstage, his team of backup dancers in tow. Angel looked absolutely gorgeous in the white and blue polka-dotted sun dress, his hair in an updo decorated with a floral headpiece. He waved to his fans upon reaching the center with dancers lining up on two sides.
“Good evening everyone! Are you ready for Summer of Love?” He raised the microphone towards the audience with one hand, the other placed on his cheek in his signature idol pose. The crowd roared enthusiastically in response. “What are we waiting for? Let’s get this party started!”
And with that, the live show began.
Aki had only seen Angel’s concerts in the CDs Denji owned, even back when their relationship had been a secret, as he couldn’t risk being found at the scene. None of them had prepared him for seeing the whole thing live, watching his partner confidently sing and dance right before his eyes looking no less like the literal angel he was. Angel performed one song after another, basking in the colourful stage light sparkling his dress. His sweet voice echoed across the venue straight into the hearts of his fans. Rows of people jumped up one by one to create a wave. They sang in loud unison along with Angel, swaying lightsticks and merchandise like followers to a god.
Aki swung his orange lightsticks like a madman and screamed the lyrics out loud. So what if someone might figure out his identity? He was here to support the love of his life, the most beautiful and incredible person to ever walk the Earth.
Confetti burst in the air concluding the first hour. The song came to an end with a guitar riff. Angel kept his pose, smiling through heavy breaths. The energy persisted even through his shaky voice.
“Everyone, are you having fun?” Angel shouted into the mic, winking cutely upon the audience’s cheers. “I can’t hear you!” To that, his fans screamed louder, even Aki whose voice was about to crack. “Waah, glad to hear that! I’m having so much fun too! Thank you for joining me in the Summer of Love! How about we take a short break ‘cause I’m super duper hungry right now!”
Aki couldn’t contain a snort. He knew first hand there was no way Angel would be this cheerful while hungry. He was probably fucking pissed right now, but had to put up a smile. It was no wonder why Angel was such a good actor, he’d been doing this for his entire career.
“Everyone!” Angel’s voice cut through his train of thoughts. The fans hollered his name. Aki noticed the way Angel turned to his very spot. It was too far to see where exactly he was looking, but for a split second, it felt as though he was looking at him.
As though the next three words were solely for him.
“I love you!”
The whole crowd burst into shouts once again, returning the love to their favourite idol. Denji was screeching next to his ear like he was about to pass out. Aki, though, was stunned to silence, completely enamored by this angel on Earth that he, till this day, couldn’t believe loved him back.
Unlike the I love you’s said to his fans, Angel’s I love youto Aki stemmed from his heart. Even when it seemed like Angel was addressing everyone here, somehow, Aki could feel it.
I love you, he thought. Then, stupidly, realizing Angel wouldn’t hear it, he said it out loud. “I love you! Angel!”
He could’ve sworn Angel’s soft smile was directed to him and him only.

“Why do you get to go see him?”
“‘Cause I have a backstage pass and you don’t.” Aki showed off the card tied to the lanyard around his neck, previously hidden beneath his shirt.
“Why don’t I get a pass too? Can’t you ask him to give me one?”
“Which one of us is his real boyfriend?”
Denji groaned. “Ugh, I get it! You’re dating my favourite idol. No need to shove it in my face all the time.”
Aki, in fact, liked shoving it in Denji’s face.
They located his car in no time, Aki went to unlock it. Again, he never meant to bring Denji with him, the guy just decided to become a nuisance and follow him to the parking lot. Opening the trunk, he was relieved to find his gift still in one piece. Angel had been receiving gifts from fans in the form of flower bouquets being placed around the venue, but Aki knew what his partner really wanted right now: a shitload of sugar. An assortment of convenience store sweets Angel had picked the night before were arranged neatly into a basket, tucked behind them was a luxurious box of chocolate truffles Aki had bought in secret. He couldn’t help spoiling his boyfriend a little even though it was too expensive of a small box.
“You’ll be watching, right?” Angel had asked while they were cuddling on the couch after another tiring rehearsal. Aki had nodded. “Then I’ll do my best. For you.” How could Aki not fold at that?
“Oh, that looks good. Where did ya get it?” Denji eyed the box.
“There’s a local chocolatier near the hotel I’m staying at,” answered Aki dismissively while looking over each item.
“Nice. I gotta get one of those for Reze. Our anniversary is coming up.”
Aki smiled. “I see that you two are going strong.”
“I know! Gosh, I love her so much! She’s the sweetest! I can’t believe she’s liked me from the start, like… Wow!” Denji cupped his own face, blushing profusely. “I’m thinking of asking her to move in with us. It’s about time.”
“Us?” Aki raised a brow. “As in, you and Power?”
“Yeah. She’s stayed over sometimes when Power’s there. They get along just fine. We’ve been looking for a third roommate anyway, which is your fault.” Denji shoved him lightly, teasingly, to which Aki rolled his eyes.
“I’m surprised the two of you survived this long paying rent for three.”
“You’re lucky that we got rich, or we’d curse you and Angel for the rest of our lives.” Denji feigned sulking, his arms crossed and all. He wasn’t exaggerating though, their careers had been picking up since the success of the Chainsaw Man movie, and it didn’t stop at acting. Denji had released his first mini album and it had entered charts after charts, while the new anime starring Power had become so popular that she was being cast everywhere now.
They weren’t the same pair of teenagers having to rely on Aki’s car to get to work. Oddly enough, Aki felt like a proud dad watching how much they’d grown, just like Shougo with his two adopted devils.
He arranged the snacks one last time before closing the trunk, about to head to backstage. He had approximately twenty minutes until the second part of the show was due to start.
“So, when’s the marriage announcement?”
Aki’s brain short-circuited and thought of the ring box he’d hidden in the deepest corner of his closet, the restaurant reservation he’d made one month in advance, the cake he’d ordered with the instruction to write Will you marry me? instead of Happy Birthday…
They’d discussed marriage several times and Angel had shown his ring size. Their families had also been informed of the decision. Angel’s brother had cried tears of joy when they’d told him, which was very sweet but sitting through it on video call for nearly ten minutes had gotten awkward really fast.
Suffice to say, Angel knew he was going to propose, just not when or how. That would be a surprise.
Not one Denji would get to know.
“It’ll come when it comes.”
“Ah! So you do intend to marry him!”
“Be quiet!”
“Can I be your best man? Can I? Can I?” Denji poked his shoulder repeatedly. The vein on Aki’s temple popped.
“I have somewhere to go right now. I’ll catch you later, probably.”
“Tell Angel I say hi. He’s ignoring my message.”
Aki made a quick trek to the backstage entrance, where he removed the disguise and showed the security guard his pass. Once inside, he was instantly hit with cool conditioned air, a stark contrast to the scorching heat outside. Passing several staff members, dancers and musicians on the way, he finally spotted the one he was looking for. Angel had a change of clothes, an orange tank top outside a white T-shirt paired with matching orange trousers; his hair was let loose, shining under the fluorescent light. He was sitting at the makeup station stuffing his face with sushi, and still he was the most gorgeous sight Aki had ever set his eyes on.
As though sensing Aki approaching, Angel looked up with his mouth full. Aki had never seen him swallowing and abandoning food this fast before.
“Aki!” he called, running to the taller man at full speed. Aki moved the basket to one hand and caught his partner with the other. Angel had all four limbs wrapped around his torso, lips instantly latched onto his skin. For a few seconds, Aki could do nothing but stand still at the onslaught of kisses on his face and neck, only to return them just as fiercely when Angel brought their lips together.
“Angel, love,” Aki murmured between their lips. “You were amazing back there.”
His partner grinned adorably, bringing his hands up to caress Aki’s cheeks. “I think I saw you in the audience. There was a shit ton of people, but I was looking for you the whole time.” He gave Aki’s lips another peck. “I’m so glad you could make it this time. I miss you like crazy.”
If it weren’t for the fact that he was carrying Angel, Aki might have melted into a puddle right then and there. His arm was getting tired, though.
“Let’s take a seat. I got something for you.”
Angel released after one final squeeze and led them back to the makeup table. There, Aki sat down for the first time in nearly an hour and a half, Angel curled up on his lap. His partner wasted no time searching through the basket with a childlike glee, while Aki nuzzled his nose on the top of his head, breathing in the sweet scent of his strawberry shampoo.
“You brought all of the stuff from yesterday. Nice.” Angel tore open a gummy pack and shoved a handful of the candy into his mouth, sighing. “I’m so tired. I might just pass out.”
“I can tell. You’ve been dancing for an hour in this weather.”
“I’m so gonna fire my manager if he ever does this again. Outdoor venues suck.”
“It has its charm, but I get it.” Aki shrugged. Sensing his partner’s frustration, he pressed his lips to Angel’s soft cheek, hoping to drive away some of it. “You’re doing great, I’m so proud of you.”
“I can’t wait to sleep for a whole day after this.” Angel yawned. “And play some video games. And maybe binge the rest of that romance show we’re in.”
Aki raised a brow. “You’re still watching that?”
“Yeah, it kinda grew on me. I heard it got popular.”
“I think it’s only because of us.” Aki shook his head with a smile. The plot was full of cliché and the rating was average, but viewers seemed to enjoy watching him and Angel interact on-screen.
“People are so weird about celebrity couples. Who would’ve thought?” Angel snickered. “I guess Denji was onto something when-”
“Please don’t remind me.” Aki scrunched his face. “Fine, maybe I’ll watch it again with you, just to see if it’s as bad as I remember. I do like the opening theme.” He gave Angel a smirk. “Parallel hearts crossing paths~”
“Shut up. It’s embarrassing when you sing it.” Angel smacked his chest. “I’ll have to perform it soon. Don’t ruin it for me.”
“Is that why you’re dressed like in the music video?”
Angel’s brow quirked up. “You remember?”
“Wanna know how many times I’ve seen it?”
His partner shoved him lightly, turning away to hide his blush. Ever since they’d started living together, Aki had made a habit of humming Angel’s songs in his presence just to see him flustered. Angel made a point of not looking at Aki while rummaging through the snack basket again. This time, he found the truffle box and examined it closely, eyes wide in wonder.
“I don’t remember buying this.”
“They’re chocolate truffles, I bought them on the way here. There’s caramel and vanilla cream fillings so I thought you might like it.”
Angel turned to look at him like he was holding the Pleiadeas. He hugged the box close to his chest.
“I love you so much.”
“Me or the truffles?”
“…I can love two things.”
Aki pinched his cheek. “Fatass.”
“Gayass.” Angel stuck out his tongue. Aki was completely in love with him.
He watched as Angel opened the box with a lot more care than before, as though he was handling a precious artifact. Instead of consuming them in one go like he usually would, Angel took his time admiring the pretty confections. He picked one up and took a small bite, the caramel stretched and landed on his pretty lips, vanilla cream oozed from the chocolate shell. Chewing slowly, Angel leaned back against Aki with his eyes closed, a contented hum vibrated in his throat.
“So this is what heaven tastes like.”
“I thought you knew already, since that’s where you came from.”
Angel’s lids fluttered open to form a glare. “You know, I think I love the truffles more.”
Aki chuckled and pulled Angel flushed against his chest, letting his partner snuggle up to him while eating. In a few minutes' time, Angel would have to be back on stage and perform for his awaiting fans, and Aki would be among them watching, cheering for him until the very end. Now, though, he relished in the peaceful intermission where they could just be together, just the two of them, doing as little as munching on some sweets. Moments like this tended to come in waves, so they made sure to treasure every second before it passed.
Then a loud ringtone cut through it.
“Oh my God.” Aki groaned and took out his phone. He’d purposefully turned the volume to maximum in case of emergency contact during the concert. He frowned upon seeing the name on the screen not of a single individual, but a group - the former roommates group that had turned into a “family” group after Angel had been added in. Aki had long given up on asking Denji to change the name, forever stuck with the label “Mom” in the chat.
They rarely had video calls, so this came as a surprise. Denji couldn’t be so immature that he’d use it for pranks. Aki debated declining the call, but his guts told him otherwise. At the very least, he wanted an explanation.
“Are you gonna turn that off?” Angel frowned at him, hands on his ears. His phone was also vibrating on the table.
Aki quickly grabbed the pair of wireless headphones from his pocket, handing one to Angel. “Denji’s calling all of us. It might be important.”
“Or it might not be,” grumbled Angel, but took the offered earbud. Aki secured the other one to his ear and accepted the call as soon as they were connected.
Two screens appeared on his phone, one with Denji’s blurry face and the other pitch black. Was Power sleeping?
“Guys, sorry, I had to call ‘cause I couldn’t wait,” Denji explained, sounding frantic. “Oh great, Angel’s here too- Wait, is that the outfit from the Parallel Hearts MV??”
“Yes,” said Angel flatly.
“I love that song!” Denji gasped. “Does that mean you’re gonna perform it soon??”
“Oh, so you’re here.”
“Do you keep a catalogue of what my boyfriend wears?” Aki frowned.
“Hey, I’m his biggest fan! Of course I have to know!”
“That’s just creepy, dude.” Angel retorted.
“Denjiiiiii, it’s three in the morning over here!” The second screen was lit up and revealed a disheveled Power squinting at them. “If this isn’t important, I’m gonna block you for the rest of my trip!”
“Don’t you always stay up until four to practice lines?”
“I’m blocking you right now!”
“No no no! I’ll make it quick! So, um, have you guys read your emails-”
“Just say it!” the rest of them said in unison.
“Okay! Okay! Here we go!” Denji took a deep breath in and out, then… “WE’RE GONNA HAVE CHAINSAW MAN SEASON TWO!!!”
“WHAT??”
“Seriously?” Even Aki perked up.
“Yes! Sensei just announced it! But don’t tell anyone! This is confidential!”
“You’re being loud as fuck right now.”
“The almighty Blood Fiend will return to screen! Oh my gosh! I’m so excited!!”
“Fuck yeah!! Get me back on set, I’m ready to rev my engines! YEAAAAHHHHHHH!!!”
“YEAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!”
“My God, they’re loud.” Angel plucked the earbud out. “How are you not deaf yet?”
Aki, on the other hand, was processing the news. While he had no doubt about the franchise’s success, the months-long silence had been alarming given the nature of this production company. Some of his fellow cast members had also expressed their anxieties. He had other acting gigs, of course, but Chainsaw Man had a special place in his heart.
It was where his career had started, where he’d met his friends and the man he loved. Moreover, he adored Shougo more than any other character he’d portrayed, wishing to accompany the devil hunter until the end of his story.
“We’re… actually getting a season two.” Aki mumbled. His friends’ screams were reduced to background noises. “I can’t believe it. I’ve been hoping for this.” He let out a loud exhale, his chest lightened considerably. Angel swung both arms around his neck.
“I’m happy for you, babe. I know how much this means to you.” He kissed Aki on the cheek. “I’m kinda excited too, actually. Can’t wait to see more of Shougo and the Angel Devil.”
That reminded him. While Denji and Power discussed what they should do to celebrate, Aki looked Angel in the eyes, a smirk curled on his lips.
“I hope you remember our deal.”
Angel tensed.
“Angel.” Aki nudged him.
“Fine! I’ll read the manga.” His partner huffed.
“All twenty-two volumes, baby. And there’s more coming.”
“Ugh!”
