Chapter Text
Sanford sighed as he watched Hank come down the stairs into the basement. Doc and Hank were the two most stubborn people he had ever met. The scratches that were on Hank's arms said enough for him. Sure, Doc needed to get some sleep, so did Hank, but the way he went with it was not the best idea in any way. He couldn't necessarily lecture Hank on his actions without getting himself killed. The only one who held that kind of authority and power was Doc. As Sanford turned his attention back to Deimos, he saw that he started shooting glass bottles. "Deimos, you better clean all of that up" Sanford spoke as the smaller turned to face him. Deimos had his puppy eyes, hoping to get himself out of picking up the glass shards that laid on the floor. "But San~ I can hurt myself with glass" Deimos whined in a high pitched voice.
Sanford rolled his eyes as he grabbed his gun. "Fine then, just don't do that voice ever again" Sanford groaned as he shot at some cardboard that he placed for himself prior. Deimos grinned as he went back to focusing on the glass, "No promises!" laughing, he shot a few more glass bottles. Hank placed himself next to Sanford after he placed down a few shooting dummies. As he grabbed his gun from its holster, Sanford got a hint of chloroform. His face scrunched up a bit as he tried to hide it.
Hank noticed the change and growled lightly, gaining Sanford's full attention. "What is it Hank?" Sanford spoke, making himself oblivious to why Hank growled. Hank pointed to his face, mimicking Sanford's face as best as he could. Sanford made a silent 'o' as he cleared his throat. "Just my tea shades were falling" Sanford spoke, receiving a grunt from Hank in response.
The three continued their practice, giving occasional tips to one another to improve their aim and shooting. It was rather peaceful for the most part, it felt foreign to the three, but they didn't complain. Though it felt more foreign to Hank than it did to Sanford and Deimos. For years, everyday, there was something to do. An agency building to wipe. Consistently having to move because of agency raids.
A few hours have passed, fully deeming it to be night. Sanford and Deimos have already left, leaving Hank alone in the basement. He stopped shooting about an hour ago. Now just standing alone with his thoughts. Sanford had told him to be careful with Doc before leaving. He didn't fully understand what he meant by it though. Was it from how me made Doc to go to sleep?
That wasn't rough by his standards and the goal he set was accomplished. Doc was finally getting some rest. As Hank thought about it more and more, he slowly came to the conclusion that it was probably a little too rough for the old man. Hank sighed as he took off his mask, his metallic jaw creaking slightly. Hank grabbed a body mirror and placed it in front of him, closely looking at himself and examining his features.
As he looked around himself, he noticed the dry blood on his arms. From Doc. Hank licked his thumb as he attempted to wipe off the dry blood that was on his arm. After some time, he managed to get most of it off, giving up when he wasn't able to get the rest of it off. Hank wasn't one to care about body and facial features, but he couldn't help but judge himself silently every time he stared at the metal jaw.
Putting away the mirror and placing his mask back on, he decided that it was time to patrol the house. Walking up the stairs into the living room, it felt oddly quiet. He was used to hearing Deimos snore loudly and Doc typing, but he heard none of it. He knew that Doc was most likely still asleep so he decided to go check Sanford and Deimos's room.
As he got closer to their room, he wished he was deaf and could erase his mind. A mixture of noises came from their shared room, giving enough information why Hank didn't hear Deimos snoring. Groaning, he quickly made his way back to the living room, hoping to cleanse his ears and mind. Walking around and checking outside was his nightly routine.
He didn't need as much sleep as his team mates, so he made himself in charge of keeping the place secure and safe while everyone slept.
