He didn't entirely blame Chim for being mad at him, but what was he supposed to do, betray the confidence of his sister? And Chim couldn't say a word, after keeping the "family secret" from Buck, but telling a common criminal? After knowing Buck and the issues he has had with his family. At the very least he could have made Maddie tell him before he found out by accident. But he didn't, he chose to keep that hidden from him. But Buck forgave him, and moved past it, why couldn't Chim do the same?

He pulls out his phone again.
“Chimney?”
It takes him a minute to answer, a minute to pull his eyes away from the screen and meet Maddie’s concerned gaze.
“What is it,” she asks.
He licks his lip. “It’s, uh, it’s my father. His assistant at least.” Maddie frowns and he continues. “He’s coming to LA. Apparently, that means sending a four-page email via his executive assistant. Not a phone call.”
Or, learning that his father is visiting, Chimney struggles.

It all started with a lie. Just a simple, harmless, white lie. A fib. It was nothing, really. Just something he'd said in the heat of the moment.
But now it's become much more. Like a snowball rolling down a long, wet hill of white, it starts off small and sloppy. It tries to smooth itself out by adding more layers but in doing so, it becomes bigger and bigger to the point where Buck wonders how he could ever think any of this was simple or harmless.
