Summary
“Have you considered the possibility that Neil has chosen you, but believes you have not chosen him?” Renee says. "Have you ever explicitly told him what you want?”
“Neil knows what I want,” Andrew snaps. This is not Andrew’s fault.
“How do you know?”
Because Neil always knows. He is as fluent in Andrew’s micro-expressions as he is in German and French. He knows which head tilts mean “go on” and which ones mean “shut up.” Without ever asking, he learned what it meant to see Andrew wearing double layers of long sleeves, or taking multiple showers in a day, and learned to hand Andrew the car keys.
That has always been the most terrifying thing about Neil — his patience to wait, watch, listen, learn. The prospect that if Neil were given enough time, there would be no part of Andrew that was just Andrew’s anymore.
“He has to know,” Andrew says.
“Does he?” Renee says. “Have you ever known Neil to assume that he is wanted?”
Five times Neil tells someone that he and Andrew aren’t dating, and one time Andrew uses his words to set the record straight.

“Turn it off. I can’t watch this any longer,” Matt said.
“We need to know what’s going on,” Andrew replied flatly.
“Andrew, we know what’s going on – the fucking world is ending. I don’t want to see it anymore.” Matt grabbed the remote off the couch beside Neil and flicked the TV off. Andrew didn’t move to stop him.Near the end of Neil’s last year at Palmetto, an outbreak of a disease, nicknamed the Brazilian Fever, throws the world into anarchy when the diseased bodies that started piling up acquired a hunger for flesh. With so much on the line, Neil and the rest of the Foxes decide Palmetto isn’t safe anymore. While decked out in orange and Exy sticks, there’s zombies, violence, enemies dead and alive, and the underlying need for survival.

Summary
“It’s a little difficult to think clearly with a knife pressed to his jugular, but Neil manages to wonder if he should’ve let the FBI send him to jail instead of here.
It makes sense, unfortunately, that after finding Neil bruised, burnt, and bleeding out on the cold cement floor of his father’s basement, Special Agent Todd Browning might have had some concerns for Neil’s health.
Neil just didn’t expect that concern to include his mental health, too.
Browning had offered Neil a choice that day - after listing out, like, fifty reasons why he thought Neil might benefit from some therapy.
Life in prison or a sixty day stay in a psych ward, followed by freedom.
Neil thought the answer was obvious, but his new roommate still hasn’t removed his blade from Neil’s throat - which Neil is now realizing isn’t actually a knife, but a razor blade taped to the butt of a toothbrush - so he’s rethinking that answer a bit.”
