Summary
I enjoy this trope too much to let it die. My take on the 'Peter goes on a field trip to Stark Tower' trope.
Written because I live for Tony and Peter father/son fluff. Join me for a classic field trip story with a slightly more realistic look at how Stark Industries functions. Peter-centric, loads of angst with a happy ending.

Tony steps in and tells him that he can stay at the tower on the day of the field trip. Only, Peter didn't realize that the field trip was to the tower, and guess who the lucky intern who gets to give them a tour is . . .

Summary
When he finally received his real Stark internship, Peter never expected to get any recognition. Convincing his classmates at Midtown was a lost cause; any credibility he once had was flushed down the drain the moment he used it as a cover story (most people hadn’t believed him in the first place).
He decided the best-case scenario was to let the rumours die out rather than try to clear his name. He still had some people in his life there to congratulate him—Aunt May, Ned, and MJ.
Peter had long since accepted that finding acknowledgment beyond what he had would only come from being Spider-Man.
