It's not *Tim's* fault Batman slept with his mom sixteen years ago, or Tim's fault that Bruce Wayne regrets signing away his parental rights fifteen years ago, but Jack Drake sure thinks it is. Now Damian is bugging him about cows and family and Jason and Dick won't stop kidnapping him and Bruce is acting like court orders don't matter, like he doesn't have a huge bat-shaped secret to protect from literally the whole freaking world.
Why is Tim the only functioning adult in this situation?
This was supposed to be coated in angst, but it fell in the fluff bucket instead. (So, update, some people are saying this may not be as fluffy as I am advertising it. I plead the 5th.)

Summary
Tim was patrolling a little too close to Crime Alley for his liking, but he would be careful.
Hood still hated and despised him, and the Bat clan wouldn't help him for anything. Tim wasn't one of them, had never been one of them, but that was ok. He accepted that.
Tim just had to be more aware of his surroundings tonight and make sure he got home in one piece. Easier said than done in Gotham, but he was Red Robin, and he could finish tonight's patrol without issue. And really, the chances of him running into Hood on a Friday night were slim to none...

"I'm not ok," he whispered.
The words hung heavy in the air.
I'm not ok.
The quiet admission stunned Jason more than anything else Tim could have said. If there was one phrase he associated with Tim, it was "I'm ok."
That Tim felt so broken he admitted he wasn't ok... Jason wondered just how not ok he was.

Even without context, as always Dick is enthralling in his storytelling. “What’s happening?” Tim asks, fascinated to know what’s got Dick so animated this time.
It’s the smallest of expressions.
Dick blinks at him, like for a moment, he forgot Tim was there.
Then he’s twisting in his chair to face him, eyes bright with the promise of a new audience. “Okay, so - remember how I told you about my new manager at the studio? Well get this - he made this new rule that audience members aren’t allowed to wear hats when they come to see the kids’ recitals. It’s part of the ‘audience dress code’, a thing which one hundred percent he just made up himself - ”
Tim watches Dick attentively. He laughs at all the right points. He even lets out a small gasp when he knows it’s expected.
And it’s good. It’s a good story, and Dick is so happy to tell it.

The frustrating thing when he gets like this is that it’s never triggered by anything real.

He remembered that he was exhausted after their last battle and someone, Cassie maybe, he thought, guided him through the Zeta and took him home. She'd tucked him into bed and left a bottle of water on his bedside table, leaving with an order to get some sleep and to call if he needed anything.
He didn’t know how many days ago that was. He hadn’t moved. The bottle was still next to his bed; he'd only taken a few sips from it.
In between bouts of restless sleep, he laid there and thought. His thoughts spiraled further and further down the longer he did.
The one singular thought that started it was: Can’t even make yourself get out of bed. You’re useless like this.
And if he couldn’t be useful, there was no point to him.
