Summary
James pulls both of his parents in for one last time. “I’ll miss you,” he says into their cloaks. James takes a deep breath in, inhaling the cardamom scent of his mother and the spicy scent of his father’s cologne. Underneath it all he could smell the faint scent of home. Christmas. He would be home for Christmas.
“I’ll see you in four months.”
His mother kisses him on the forehead, “Love you, Jamie.”
His father does the same with one last ruffle to his hair, “Love you, son.”
James picks up his owl and boards the train, turning to wave before his first step on the Hogwarts Express
