The man in the mirror becomes a stranger to him; he looks into the glass and wonders how everything became so distorted and backward and...wrong. He notices in bursts: when Teddy grows taller than him, when he’s kissing Ginny on her lips and looking at the subtle smile lines she’s starting to develop around her plush mouth. She’s got the cutest crinkles by her eyes.

The Wixen world is run by powerful witches called Queen's and their courts, surrounded by a traditional pagan society. They control the magical world and all that live in it.
But things are stirring, and coming out of the shadows. The Aos Sí, the dangerous Fae who were once worshiped as gods are not as gone and faded into myth as the Wixen world hopes.
Hermione boards the Hogwarts express ignorant of any of this. She is going to have to learn and learn fast.
For the courts, society, and the Fae will not go easier on her because of her disadvantage of muggle up bringing.
No it will be quiet the opposite.She is going to have to use every bit of her intelligence to help her as she fights to understand this culture, protects and stop other queens from stealing the males that belong to her, figure out why on earth the Fae are so interested in her.
Helped along the way by two boys, one famous the other half feral. Plus a reluctant sixth year Slytherin and a thoroughly bemused Potion Master.
All before finally take her rightful place in this brave new world.

This is not a strict single-point-of-departure fic - there exists a primary point of departure, at some point in the past, but also other alterations. The best term I've heard for this fic is "parallel universe".
The text contains many clues: obvious clues, not-so-obvious clues, truly obscure hints which I was shocked to see some readers successfully decode, and massive evidence left out in plain sight. This is a rationalist story; its mysteries are solvable, and meant to be solved.
The pacing of the story is that of serial fiction, i.e., that of a TV show running for a predetermined number of seasons, whose episodes are individually plotted but with an overall arc building to a final conclusion.
The story has been corrected to British English up to Ch. 17, and further Britpicking is currently in progress (see the /HPMOR subreddit).
All science mentioned is real science. But please keep in mind that, beyond the realm of science, the views of the characters may not be those of the author. Not everything the protagonist does is a lesson in wisdom, and advice offered by darker characters may be untrustworthy or dangerously double-edged.
