While he’s sure Peter’s telling the truth—Peter has never been to the MIT campus despite living close by, and has had a tantrum or two about wanting to go with his dad instead of staying home with the sitter—Tony’s also sure he never wanted to go like this.
“See? Kid’s great.” Tony doesn’t believe the words as they come out of his mouth. Rhodey clearly doesn’t believe what Tony is saying, but puts his hands up reluctantly in surrender. Peter tries to smile convincingly, but a trickle of snot runs down his nose and onto Tony’s collar at the same time and it comes off as more of a grimace.
Perfect.
Bio!Dad AU wherein Tony Stark fell into parenthood a little earlier than most, and ends up having to take his sick five-year-old with him to class or risk not finishing his Master’s degree at MIT. In the future, Tony and Peter happen to run into a familiar MIT professor.

There should have been nothing remarkable about two people in a busy cafeteria, but Becket takes in the familiar sight of curly hair, brown eyes, and a t-shirt with a science pun on it talking animatedly alongside Actual Anthony Edward Stark and promptly drops his lunch.
He gapes for a solid second, seeing but not believing. It definitely doesn’t look like Mr. Stark is forcing the kid to leave, or firing him, or escorting him to security given the relaxed smiles on both of their faces. If anything, Becket thinks Mr. Stark looks rather proud.
“So, uh, Mr. Stark definitely knows Roomba-Kid,” Becket says and discreetly tilts his head in the direction of the pair.
“Oh my god,” Jess says. She almost sounds gleeful. “Oh my god, he’s not just some random kid. He’s Mr. Stark’s kid.”

“I had my issues with Howard, as I’m sure you know,” he says with a scowl, hands tightening where they’re holding onto the edge of the piano. He doesn’t sound angry, at least not that Steve can hear, but Steve recognizes the careful restraint being put in by Dr.Pym to not insult Howard. It’s the same way Tony would speak about Howard, with the same edge in his voice that spoke of underlying resentment. Howard just had that effect on people.
Hank uncurls his hands, and moves to sit on the piano bench, still not taking his eyes away from Steve.
“But Maria…” He gives a small smile at this, “Maria had been a dream.”
(Or, Hank Pym offers Steve some insight. It goes a long way.)
