[The weight moved slowly, climbing her ribs like a steep stairway. She remembered she could open her eyes, but she didn’t really want to. Voices, strange at first and then closer and then Terra and Bloom. They wanted her to open her eyes, Musa thought. Maybe she should.
“She’s asleep,” said a voice, and Musa felt it rumble through the hand on her side.
“She should be awake by now,” Terra insisted, though she lowered her voice to a whisper.
“Well she’s not,” Riven said, because it was Riven with his palm firmly on her.]
When Musa gives up her magic, she convinces Riven to train her to fight. Musa finds she has more to fight for than she thought.
