Summary
Working late is an unfortunate reality is Peggy’s line of work. Irritating but inevitable given the amount of paperwork generated by fighting a war. Intelligence summaries, requisition forms, debriefs, briefs, memos, and telegrams. Most of the pointless, all of them tedious. She wasn’t the only one stuck in the office until all hours of the night, her sweet Captain was stuck in yet another meeting that looked to keep him busy until the small hours of the morning. The only member of their little ménages à trois with even a hope of relaxing during their ‘down time' was darling Bucky.
Peggy chose to picture him lounging in bed. Half-naked and half asleep. Waiting for her and Steve to finally be set free form their tasks.
Of course, picturing him that was wouldn’t stop the mischievous boy showing up in her office, complaining he was lonely and insisting on keeping her company. Allegedly keeping her company. In actuality, he seemed more interested in driving her to distraction with his teasing than anything productive. The brat.
Not that she’d want him to be anything but what he was.

Summary
Peggy Carter isn’t one for reckless decisions. Spur of the moment decisions, yes. But not reckless ones. Especially not relationship decisions that could undermine the career she had sacrificed so much for. Men were a complication she didn’t need. She had a war to win and a point to prove.
From the moment she met him, Peggy knew Steve Rogers was special. From the moment he stumbled out of the capsule, she knew he could undermine her judgment. When he tackled her out of the way of a speeding car and then apologized, she knew he was more than even she had expected.
All of which meant she was anything but shocked when they ended up more than casual acquaintances. She would still privately admit to being surprised by exactly how quickly she ended up with his hands up her skirt and her underwear around her ankles.
Again.
And again.
To the point where she is forced to accept that it isn’t an anomaly. She really was that reckless where Steve was involved. And she absolutely can not convince herself to feel guilty about it.

Summary
Men are, by and large, a waste of Peggy’s time. Oh, certainly, there are a few who aren’t entirely useless, and some of them aren’t bad to look at. But she’s never been very interested in what they have to offer. She has more important things to do, like win the war.
That’s why it’s so frustrating that she can’t stop thinking about Steve. She should have better control over herself.
Steve is the only man who has ever caused her such trouble.
That is, until James Buchanan Barnes opens his mouth.

“Your shieldmates—” she begins. Stops. Starts over. She grabs his arm. “Despite what you may think, I know the ways of soldiers on the battlefield, relieving battlelust. Or sharing comfort when far from hearth and loved ones.”
Aragorn looks at her like he’s never seen her before. She is the niece of a king, and nobility rarely deigns to speak of such matters.
“I— I am aware, my lady.”
“Then, could you think of me as a fellow soldier? Would you accept me as a comrade, just for this night?” She pauses, takes a breath. “I would give you what you need, Aragorn. What I want most is to do so.”Even if Aragorn cannot give Éowyn what she wants, perhaps she can give him what he needs.

“How many times do you think we can make him spend tonight, Master Elf?” Aragorn shudders as Gimli’s deep voice rolls through him, the promise of those words turning his mind fuzzy.
“At least twice I should say,” Legolas says, “shall we keep a tally?” Legolas tugs the laces of Aragorn’s breeches, the sensation making him bite back a moan.
“You underestimate our leader, Legolas,” Gimli says. “The stamina of both men and dwarves are unrivaled. I say three, four times.” Gimli bites at Aragorn’s neck while he grips Aragorn’s ribs hard enough to bruise.
“I’ll take those odds.”
