Dean thinks longingly of getting another bottle, but there are certain habits he’s trying to build and certain ones he’s trying to avoid, ever since he very nearly killed Sam just seven, eight months ago. Listen to Sam. Think about the consequences of his actions. Drink less. He’s basically living in abject failure on all three fronts, but Sam appreciates the effort he thinks, and that’s what matters. Almost two years ago, Dean chased Sam around this bunker with a hammer, and Sam appreciates the effort.
