But becoming friends with them is one of the only things in life you don't regret, and you intend to keep it that way. Up until you're a wrinkly old grandma, a proud friend clapping at their wedding, or even on your deathbed, hit by some random truck in the middle of the street, smiling happily because, hey, they were assholes but great friends. The three of you know everything about each other, inside and out.
The only thing you don't know is how close they both toe that fine, fragile line you've created, ready to shatter everything you've ever known.
(And the Miya twins have never been great sports at losing.)

And you can't stop thinking about strange children who run through the night with swords, terror and strength in their eyes. You can't stop reaching for the missing piece against your side. You can't help but feel like something has been taken from you. Something precious.
But that strangely familiar, beautiful man with rainbow eyes seems perfectly content to have you where you are.
"The life you lived before was terribly, terribly hard," he says, carding his fingers through your hair and coaxing you closer. "Isn't it better? Here, with me?"

"I honestly don't know anything about where I am, but I do know I want to save people, and I'm strong enough to do it. If I die right now, here in this courtroom, I can't say I won't have regrets."
The crowd fell into stunned silence as Yuji's gaze swept across the faces of those present, emphasizing his sincerity. "But if you let me help you," he continued passionately, "I swear to you I will kill all of the Titans!"
Or;
In an alternate ending, Gojo is freed much earlier and tries to clean up the mess that occurred in his absence. Newly appointed first-grade, Itadori Yuji, ends up on a solo mission where he encounters a cursed spirit with a bizarre cursed technique. He finds himself trapped in a wonderful new world where there are no curses to be seen - how refreshing - but surprise! Watch out for those hangry titans! I mean what is up with the whole ‘having an appetite for human flesh’ schtick anyway?

Itadori Yuuji was his - quite literally made for him, birthed to serve the King of Curses in his complete entirety. Even when he was no longer required as a cursed vessel, he was still Sukuna’s - and he would remain Sukuna’s in this lifetime and the next, just as he’d been in the past. And well...if push came to shove, Sukuna was more than happy to remind his naive little human of this fundamental fact. But before that, it seemed he would need to extract the filthy parasite clinging to his brat first.
