Fairies had been dwindling for a long time now. Having never met another fairy all her life, Columbina never expected to meet one for the first time while trapped in Silvermoon Hall for her own protection.
Unfortunately, this chance encounter did not seem to be born of celebration and joy. Instead of a bright, cheerful fairy she expected to see—given the infamously carefree reputation of the Mondstadt fairy—there was something dull and subdued about about the fairy swaying in the breeze. Everything about it felt... wrong.

Somewhere, over the course of the years, Xiao's room in Wangshu Inn has become Xiao and Venti's room. There's traces of Venti all around; from his cape hanging over the back of the chair, to the hair ties on the dresser and the flowers on the windowsill. His lyre is left on the bed, and Xiao doesn't think he'll ever get used to it.
