This seems like a great addition to the site and it's clear that you've already put a lot of thought into this, so this has probably come up but just in case it hasn't.
These tags need to act more like the warnings than the ratings. Some works, Big Bangs and Reverse Big Bangs for instance, are going to fall under multiple tags.
(I'm not saying that a 20 word comment under a sketch needs to be listed as text as well as art, but it would be nice if the art didn't get lost in a 30,000 word story.)
I'd like to second this, especially since, for instance I do have some works that are equal parts art and fic. I'd rather use a pull-down bar and decide what the fanwork is supposed to be myself.
When I code a podfic, I'm only going to have about 40 words with a large piece of artwork that is the cover art. Both of those things are ancillary to the mp3 I'm linking, you know? And I'm not sure an auto-detect would get that right.
