Great to see there's being some action taken irt TOS and especially the FAQ, though it would have been nice to have an online format delivery for the changes themselves.
One quick question: lately I've been seeing people post "fic prompts" to the Archive as works on their own. (Basically people posting pleas for others to write for them.) Under the new rules re: ephemerality, these would be disallowed, no?
I was relieved to see the new FAQ address this, because this has become a bit of an annoyance. The FAQ says:
Where we provide a specific function (search, bookmarking, challenges) we will ask you to use the specific methods we provide for those activities rather than create separate works.
and
What about a fanwork prompt? Please use our challenge function for this rather than creating a separate work .
