That isn't what happened at all. Preliminary conversations started between committees to get works types happening, and Board asked staff to make sure all of the relevant committees were looped in, and that a proposal outlining the plan for development and implementation be written so all of those committees would be able to follow the progress.
Please don't lie. The Board said they were going to allow the committees to discuss the issue of meta and give input (which would have meant issues like implementation could have been addressed) and then unilaterally changed course. It would be nice if the Board would actually be honest about this with users. The committees and volunteers were shut out of the closed-door discussion.
