Comment on The "Search Within Results" Field and You: The Round-Up

I'd like to suggest a feature for search, especially when narrowing down selections.
    Exclude Pairing(s)
    example: no cas/dean
    example: no sam/dean
    example: no slash
    example: no threesomes
    example: no gen
    Exclude Character(s)
    example: no sam
    example: no kevin

    1. Wasn't how to exclude things from searches actually explained in the posts that were rounded up in this newspost that you commented to?

        I don't think I understood it.
        maybe I misunderstood something?
All I noticed when I search for things on the archive I don't have a choice of exclusion of persons or genera or pairings and so I made suggestions of search using the drop down boxes using terms Exclusion then have checkmark boxes for what to exclude in the search. a good example of a search engine that has some of the features I mention is at this DueSouth (The Due South Fiction Archive Search Engine) Archive http://squidge.org/dsa/cgi-bin/search.cgi

        1. If you click on the link for 'The "Search Within Results" Field and You, Part 2' up at the top of the post, it talks about how to exclude things from the filters.

This isn't linked from the post, but there's also a tutorial that someone put up on tumblr that goes through the method in that post step-by-step. It's over here.

So yeah, basically, you can definitely exclude things, you just need to use the "Search Within Results" box.
