This was very well-written and embodies many of my frustrations about how musicals are ofter dismissed in academia. Maybe I should write an angry letter... or I could do what I do and write the essay anyway, even if it wouldn't be graded. One time I wrote an entire essay explaining why Javert from Les Mis is suicidal throughout the whole book and musical instead of just at the end.
But no, wait, I write angry letters to the school district all the time. Never mind. Turns out I'm just as bad as you.
This was lovely. Just a nit-pick-y thing though: you don't use "Dear ___" if it's not a friendly letter. You use "To" and a colon rather than a comma.
Other than that, rock on. Challenge authority. Be the edgy AP kid.
