    Honestly surprised how many people don’t know what Fanlore is or have ever visited it before. I feel like it’s the most visible and viable out of the other sites outside of ao3, so if no one knows or cares about Fanlore it’s hard to imagine them having knowledge or interest of any of the other otw projects. :/

      Fanlore has a reputation for hostility that precedes it in a lot of fannish spaces, so that could be part of why people aren't visiting. The general consensus seems to be that it is perceived as being hostile to new contributors or people who don't write the entire page they want to add themselves with good coding and academic level citations. Regardless of how true that perception is, it certainly kept me from using it for a long time. And now that I do, I definitely wouldn't try to contribute anything to it; I try to avoid drama.

        i don't really enjoy going on fanlore, its harder to navigate and seems a bit... difficult?
        idk maybe its because i prefer to write in AU's
