Do remember it's only been a day, so the dynamic isn't fully worked out yet. Though Oriko is much less of a follower by personality than Kirika is. Kirika needs reassurance for decisions that Oriko wouldn't even think to question. Which leads to a less one-sided power dynamic. Though if that's enough to keep her moral decency and sanity, remains to be seen.
This story is going to be more along Oriko Magica/Sadness Prayer lines, though it might be fun to write some extra story snippets where Kirika sees Walp instead and things are a bit more lighthearted.
I do wish there were more Oriko/Kirika fics, but since there are so few, I'm taking the chance to add to them.
Length wise I'm going to say 80-150k words, though honestly, that may vary. MtaF was originally planned to be 5 timelines at 180k words after all (Because I had no idea how to do pacing or how long timelines took to write). So don't take that as a guarantee. My muse goes where it feels like in terms of length.
Both of them do have quite effective magic against Homura, but I wouldn't quite say hard counter. After all, unless they know what Homura's magic is and its limitations before engaging her, they will lose by default. Homura's magic is very hard to counter, even when you have good weapons/magic for it.
