    I like the way you recreated this scene. But then, I also can't imagine how the story might proceed from here. Will he still be living with Kogoro and Ran? If not, what will happen? The organization has no way to predict that someone has been shrunk, so I guess he can relax a little... until little 'Edogawa Conan' make a name of himself.

      This won't be a total break from the canon, but a lot of things will be very different. In Japan, there's a law that means children can't be adopted unless their birth parents consent to it, even if the child was a victim of a crime committed by the parents. Instead, the children are put in orphanages. This means that in Japan, orphanages are over-crowded, because most parents won't let their children be adopted or fostered, which leads to all kinds of problems for the orphanages and the kids stuck there. So, adoption isn't a likely outcome for Shinichi, even if his parents are unknown. If his parents are proven deceased, then he could be adopted, but "Conan"s parents don't exist, so that's pretty unlikely.
