He watches her sneak into the kitchen, shoes held in her hands, socked feet nearly silent on the tiled floor. She's bundled in her winter coat with her knit hat and what looks like at least two scarves and her puffy skiing gloves. It's a mish-mosh of winter clothing, not one of the perfectly matched sets she usually wears. Her school backpack is secure on both shoulders, she's always insistent on wearing it properly.

Sansa Stark is furious.
She's lived in this apartment for three years. Every year her door is the most decorated, her balcony decked out in jack-o-lanterns and string lights. But this year, they had moved in, Sam and his roommate. This year their door is dripping in tacky décor. And yes, she might have snuck around to the other side of the building to see their balcony and sure enough...
That was the first straw. The second was the pounding bass currently drifting down the hall from their apartment, through the walls and into her own. It is absolutely ruining her party.

“Lady, how would you like to go to a feast and hear a singer?” Lady simply tilts her head but Sansa takes this to mean yes. Sansa opens her door slightly, then goes to sit on her bed and she closes her eyes and concentrates.
When she opens her eyes, it's with Lady's black and white vision and ultra sharp senses. Lady-Sansa makes her way out of the room (it's strange to see Sansa-Sansa laying on her bed with her eyes closed) and she trots through the castle halls, heading for the banquet. With Lady's hearing, the voices and laughter and music lead the way.
or: Sansa is confined to her rooms and decides to sneak out and, of course, gets caught

It's an hour earlier than she was supposed to be here – Rickon was supposed to wait in aftercare until she got off work, but the call had come in and she'd had to excuse herself to her boss (he was not thrilled) and run all the way down here – and for what?
Don't worry, sweetheart, mom had said. Rickon's always calmer after the holidays, he gets all his energy out then.

She had been appalled, appalled, when he had handed her a literal iPod when she asked if she could pick the music. Who still uses an iPod. He has... ok, well, Jon has a pretty basic phone and she's sure he'd still be using a flip phone if they still sold them (Robb had pushed Jon into a pool last summer with his phone in his pocket, which had led to the smartphone upgrade and a very disgruntled Jon).
So Jon hands her an iPod; and tells her to pick the music and she can't tell if she's disgusted or infuriated by his music selection – or lack thereof.

It began simple enough, with each of them talking just slightly louder than normal in her presence, going out of their way to cross her path, blustering and preening like idiots. She is used to Theon swaggering about, and sometimes even her brother, but cousin Jon is never like this.

The word rings through her head as she digs under the bed for her shoe, fingers finally catching the heel and pulling it out. She stuffs the shoe into her already full arms and slowly gets off her knees. At one point, she almost overbalances, but manages to get upright without making a sound and she tries not to look at the very naked man lying on his stomach on the bed, one arm above his head and the other slung out into the space she had just abandoned.

Newspapers had dubbed him The Crow – even her own newspaper wrote about him nearly every single day, even when he wasn't active. The Crow wasn't like the other superheroes that had been popping up in other cities – he didn't fight petty crime, he didn't seem to prowl the streets at night looking for minor assaults and thefts. No, he went after the elite, the ones the police couldn't (or wouldn't) touch.
(There had been a time when Sansa had wished desperately that The Crow would come for the Lannisters and save her, but he never had. The Lannisters might be cruel, but they weren't criminal masterminds, and in the end, it had been Sansa that had saved herself.)

Theon leans in towards him conspiratorially. “Speaking of, I heard Sansa was coming dressed like a bunny.” He leans back and waggles his eyebrows and then gestures down at his costume. “We'll be matching, get it?”

But he and Ygritte are broken up now and it's the start of the season and there's a spirit box in his locker.
It isn't the wrong locker, though – no, there's his name in glittery puffy paint on the top, along with stars and hearts and a little doodle of their team mascot, a direwolf. There's his jersey number. And in the center of it all, a lipstick print. A kiss.

He's dressed in Robb's old suit (it mostly fits, only a bit tight in the shoulders, the pants just a tad too snug, hopefully no one will be able to tell) and then he has to go sit in the living room and wait while Sansa and Mrs. Stark are holed up in her room, doing whatever it is girls do to get ready for prom.
Movement on the stairs makes him look over his shoulder and he stands up from the couch when he sees her. If you ask him later, he will deny it, but he swears time slows as she walks down the stairs, carefully holding up the skirts of her blue dress, head bowed and watching her feet so she doesn't trip in her heels.
