"Where the hell were you today? I had to fight Launchpad!"
“There was all sort of extra goings-on at the Bin today due to Mr McDuck's bet with Mr. Glomgold, so I left to avoid any cockamamie schemes or petty nonsense. But it seems the petty nonsense came to me instead.”After the events of Glomtales, Mark Beaks is still determined to best Gyro in battle.

Summary
“I almost got fired today.”
Mark choked on his LaFlock. “Why would McDuck fire you? You’ve worked there for ages! And it can’t be because you built something dangerous, that happens every other week--”
“Not Mr. McDuck. The Board.” Gyro’s mouth tasted bitter just saying the word. “Those simpletons wanted to cut my funding! So I objected, and got put on five weeks of administrative leave for my trouble.” He grunted in frustration. “I don’t know if I’ll go back at the end of it. As much as I appreciate Mr. McDuck, maybe it’s time to move on.”
A sly grin appeared on Mark’s face. “You ever consider working at Waddle?”
