Summary
“I made breakfast,” Joe sang, ignoring the venom in Cherry’s tone. “Special breakfast for the special boy.”
Cherry turned just enough to glare up at him. “Call me that again and I’m leaving you.”
Joe chuckled. “Birthday Boy, then."

Summary
Right. Kojiro had been pretty sure of it already -- as he assumed Kaoru would have told him if he’d locked lips with anybody -- but now he knew for certain. This was Kaoru’s first kiss.
He was going to be Kaoru’s first kiss.

Summary
Yes, Kojiro was a protector, not a destroyer. Though, many who laid eyes upon him, with his incredible size and fierce-looking horns, would cower away in fear. Even those he’d saved. But that was just something he couldn’t avoid. Regardless of how the humans saw him, it was his duty to protect his island home.

Summary
However, one evening, Cherry entered Sia la luce to find Joe reading a book on calligraphy. He raised his brows, but didn’t say anything as he walked up to his usual seat and sat down. Of course, when Joe didn’t acknowledge him, he broke the silence. “I want carbonara.”
The corner of Joe’s mouth twitched up as he fought a smile. “Yes, darling."

Joe awoke to a familiar aroma. Though, something was off. The smell of hot oil was usually accompanied by the tantalizing fragrance of sizzling onions and garlic. More importantly, he was in bed, which meant -- Joe’s eyes snapped open -- “Kaoru’s cooking!”

No, while Joe was loud and proud about his ink, Cherry was secretive. Because, although he’d gotten it for himself first and foremost, it was placed in a location that was for one man’s eyes only.

"Didn’t think I’d want to see what?” Cherry frowned.
“My body,” Joe clarified, still looking down.
Now, part of Cherry wanted to say that was absurd. As he’d seen Joe naked more times than he could count. Never mind that Joe took every opportunity to show off his perfectly sculpted chest and abs that he’d worked so hard to achieve.
But another part of Cherry understood that Joe was upset. Something about his body was bothering him. And he was not about to tell him what he was feeling was wrong.

Summary
The correct way of doing things was to go for a morning run, return energized, pull some espresso shots from the fancy new machine they’d gotten as a wedding gift, and then make cute art with the steamed milk’s foam.
But there had been many missteps which led to Joe pouring their half-assed lattes into two mugs and setting them on the counter.
