Summary
Rupert's plot to embarrass Ted and Rebecca takes a near deadly turn, forcing those close to Ted to reassess their past (Beard), present (Nate), and future (Rebecca) with him.
Please note: This is a purely Tedbecca fic in a series that will eventually become Ted/Rebecca/Beard, but it can be read as a standalone. Also, reading the first story in the series is not strictly necessary to understanding this one, but I think would add depth to some scenes.

“Well, golly, where’s my manners? Name’s Ted Lasso, freshman English major.” Ted struck out his hand.
The other man hesitated for a moment, then took it and shook slowly, almost thoughtful; assessing. “Beard,” he finally said.
Ted blinked. “Beard?”
“Beard.”
“Is that a first name or…?”
