Most of the Clave’s outdated prejudices and laws have been done away with some time ago. Alec Lightwood and his siblings are happy there, and Alec is even out of the closet.

This was a Prompt in the Malec Discord Server by the excellent Lexcellent. (I had to do the pun, sorry.) Aka carryonmywaywardshadowhunter
Magnus is a bright and sparkly computer genius seemingly hellbent on defying the awkward nerd stereotype. Alec is a lawyer more concerned with putting in hours at work than all that social nonsense his siblings insist on.
Alec is working on a document at the local coffee shop when his computer freezes and deletes the works he's spent hours on. And has only half an hour to finish. The panic is really setting in when Magnus, getting his daily caffeine fix, notices the guy in a suit cursing at his computer. He offers his assistance, and after saving Alec's day (and completely charming the pants off of him), he leaves with Alec's number and a promise of a thank you dinner.
(And then I came along and made it weird.)
