Summary
As Chuuya watches the bright headlights of a car pass, it suddenly occurs to him that he can hear what sounds like faint crying. He elects to ignore it at first, claiming it wasn’t any of his business, but some instinct tells him to go search for the origin. So, he does.
It was a little hard at first, mainly due to the thunder rolling across the night sky, but Chuuya manages to pinpoint where the crying was coming from. Stopping in front of a dark alleyway, Chuuya hears sniffling and a couple of sobs coming from within. He lets his eyes adjust to the darkness first before venturing in, his shoes clicking on the concrete sidewalk and splashing through half-formed puddles.

Summary
Two heads swivel to face him. Both Chuuya and Sonoko are on the ground, Sonoko in Chuuya’s lap while Albey lies beside them. Dazai’s breath catches in his throat as he observes what he interrupted: Sonoko in the process of placing a flower crown of dark red gladiolus on Chuuya’s head. The color perfectly compliments the vibrant red of his hair, the strands pulled into a messy bun at his nape. Without the usual hindrance of curls, the sun shines on his face, giving light to the countless stars that are freckles gracing his skin and an electric shine to his blue eyes.

“It’s supposed to thunderstorm later.”
“It is?”
“Yeah,” says Chuuya, setting his coffee on the dining table. Concern laces his words as he voices, “I’m worried about Sonoko. This will be her first major storm since I found her.” Things unspoken are seen in the tightening of gloved fingers against porcelain.
“Don’t worry, I’ll watch over her,” Dazai assures.
