“What?” Techno asks, heartbreak making his voice shake.
“No! No! Wilbur, please! What’s wrong? Just tell me–”
“You want to know what’s wrong, Techno? The fact that I could be charging you with insubordination or even treason for daring to speak to me in such a way, but I am not. I will not. You did me a great service while under my employment, now you’re done and you are leaving. You are not permitted into this country without valid citizenship.” Wilbur’s are hard, cold and calculating.
It reminds Techno of the late king when he’d forced Techno into that contract.
Genuine fear runs through his veins as he stares at Wilbur.
“No!” Techno pleads. “Please, Wilbur!”

Summary
Every night the nightmares plagued his mind, and on extremely bad days, Wilbur couldn’t get out of bed.
It was those days he wished there was someone to pull him out of it. To grab his hand and tug him outside to enjoy the sunshine. To hold him after nightmares.
His friends tried when they came. But they couldn’t stay forever.
Another problem for a future him.
Right now, he wanted to do this spell and do it well.
He could only pray it wasn’t a spell that summoned a monster. As far as he could tell, it transformed things.
Wilbur sets a potted Linnaea borealis on the floor, the clay pot clinking against the hard stone as he does so.
In what way it transformed, the author had never described, but Wilbur just assumed it was something like a flower to a bee or something small like that.
Hence why he was in his basement so if he accidentally summoned a monster, he could lock it in the basement.
He takes a breath and lets his magic whirl around him.

Summary
Wilbur was just tired all the time, and he knew Techno felt guilty about that.
If Wilbur had let him, Techno would’ve picked up a second job, but Wilbur had refused.
When Wilbur had only been working one job and Techno, two, Techno hadn’t let Wilbur work more than one, and now Wilbur could work two jobs, and Techno could work one.
As soon as all their debts were paid off, Wilbur would stop working so much. Their debts costed a lot more than they’d ever thought they could be, and relied on Techno’s paycheck just to stay in their apartment.

They say there's a cost to freedom, and now Wilbur and Techno are paying that price. They can live alone, but at what cost? Now considered legal adults, there's no chance of them going back to foster care, but new problems lie ahead.
When things suddenly get better for Techno, Wilbur's life seems to get worse. But he's too stubborn to tell Techno his problems. Better to let his brother think that Wilbur was doing just fine than needlessly worry him.Day Three: Modern

“This is Achilles, we’ve tried all the other names that previous owners have given him, but he’s hated them all except this one.” The white cat- Achilles- perks up at his name and stares out at Wilbur. “He’s been returned a lot, no one wants a–”
“Him.” Wilbur says without hesitation. Something about the cat called to him.
He knew that the cat had been returned for a good reason, but Wilbur knew he could give this cat a life of whatever it wanted.
Isolation?
Wilbur had no one else living with him.
Cuddles?
Wilbur was probably a bit touch-starved and would love to hold a cat.
Whatever this cat wants, Wilbur would give it to him. Even if it was letting him go and live life as a street cat.
“Are you sure? He’s not known for his–”
“I want him, please, miss.” Wilbur kneels at the door to the kennel and sticks his finger through.

Wilbur, in a state of desperation for some company, goes to a local pet adoption center to look for a pet. Then he comes across Achilles, a cat that clearly doesn't like the lady leading him around, but likes him for some reason and takes him home.

Wilbur didn’t hate Prometheus. Not in the slightest, and in fact, he hoped the villain would accomplish his goals.
Wilbur ducked under the blast of fire that Prometheus fired at him. “Come on, Pan, surely you tire of our daily fights!”
They weren’t daily.
Or they hadn’t started out that way.
Once a month turned into twice a week into practically every day.
“Of course I do, but do you think I can just leave?” Wilbur laughs as Prometheus grabs his throat and pins him against the wall.

Summary
Wilbur and Techno were as thick as thieves. It had been that way since they’d met last year. Wilbur had come up to Techno and had been there ever since. Where one was, you’d usually find the other.
Until now, that is.
Techno couldn’t find Wilbur, and his instincts were going berserk.
As a brute, he was supposed to protect his sounder, and now he couldn’t find him.
They’d been in the marketplace and had gotten temporarily separated, now Wilbur was nowhere to be found.
He chuffed, shouted, and called for his sounder, but Wilbur didn’t come nor respond.
Was he abandoned?
Again? A poisonous voice whispers.
He shook his head, no, Wilbur didn’t have anywhere else to go. He wouldn’t just up and leave Techno.
He couldn’t.
Right?

Summary
Wilbur knew that Techno was hiding something in the local apothecary. He didn’t know what it was, but he knew that it probably wasn’t something he needed to worry about.
Techno sold medicinal herbs and other homemade remedies at the Craft apothecary. Philza was gone a lot and so Techno was left in charge most of the time, or that was what Techno had said Philza’s excuse had been.
“This time of night? Techno you’re overworking yourself, you shouldn’t let yourself work so hard!” Wilbur complains as Techno packs up his things to go to the shop. “Turn your phone off!”
“I can’t, Wil, I’m helpin’ people, something you don’t understand about,” Techno hisses as he heads out the door.
Wilbur sits heavily on the couch.

Something suspicious is going on with Techno and Wilbur's gonna find out what. There's no secrets between best friends (especially twins) so Wilbur's about to keep it that way.
However he finds something he wasn't expecting, not just about Techno but about himself....Day Seven: Fluff
