After the shitshow his life had been over the last few years, it’s nice to worry about impressing a boy rather than the world-ending potential of his own actions. Unfortunately, Amadeus picked a boy who came with his own world-ending potential and no desire to stop terrorising the local crime ecosystem, which seriously cuts into quality time.

Maddy invites Amadeus out for dinner, with a side order of an interrogation.
(Or: Amadeus has long-term plans for his relationship with Robbie. He's not going to let details like vaguely-described pacts with an evil ghost stop him from getting a happy ending. Or at least a semi-predictable foreseeable future.)
