Summary
When Mikey woke up for the tenth time that day, he looked around. He barely had any strentgh to stay up at all, his arms burned and he felt so lightheaded he was on the verge of unconciousness once again, but he just had to see. To be sure.
His arms were wrapped around someone.
Okay. Leo was in the room. Okay. One brother down. Two more to go.
He looked up. Raph was beside them, also asleep and leaning against the bed. While normally Mikey would want to check for a heartbeat, he could hear the oldest snore, so that was enough for now. Just one more.
Mikey scanned the room, about to pass out again the moment he spotted the third-
Donnie wasn't in the room.
Why wasn't Donnie in the room?
WHERE IS DONNIE?!
Or
Even during his recovery, all Mikey could worry about was his brothers.

"Michelangelo?"
Mikey's head snapped up, tears streaming down his cheeks.
He made no move to wipe them away. Didn't even try to smile.
Raphael didn't know if that was concerning or an improvement.
"Oh... h-hi, bro." Only then did he show the smallest smile. "Sorry... did I wake you up?"
"...No, I got thirsty." The snapper lied, making his way to the younger, and sat beside him.
"..." Mikey looked away, smile falling. He sniffled.
"...Do you want to talk about it?"
"..." Mikey hiccuped softly, refusing to meet his gaze. "I... it's not... I just..." he trailed off, not knowing how to explain it. So instead, head hanging low in defeat, he held out his left arm.
It was shaking like crazy.

"If I can know." Leo silently started. "How... how did he die?"
"I wouldn't worry about it." Casey smiled. "Thankfully, your Michelangelo never had to do that."
"Let me guess- I saved the world in some awesome way by wrapping my chains around the Krang and throwing them into a building?!"
This Mikey was much more childish than Master Michelangelo. It made sense, as Mikey was much younger than Casey himself. The human chuckled, eyes shining with pride.
"Ah, no... You opened a portal-"Donnie choked on the cake he had been eating. April quickly started patting his back.
Raph had dropped his plate in shock, and Leo looked horrified, suddenly having a death grip on Mikey's hands.
Casey frowned.
"...What?"

After finding out their youngest brother could have very much died opening that mystic portal, his three older brothers grow extremely overprotective of him.
Mikey, still not seeing the problem, is starting to break at the babying.

Summary
With a shuddering breath, Mikey pulled his sleeves away, revealing his shaking hands and the mystic scars. They were glowing a tiny bit, and they didn't look as bad. They were healing... finally.
The glow wasn't as bad, thankfully. But they shook. That was a given after a nightmare.
"Nightmares that got worse…" Doctor Feelings chided in worriedly. "You know they'll just keep getting worse if you don't talk with your brothers. You need a healthy way to process your feelings."
As he reached down, he could vaguely hear Doctor Delicate Touch yell at him, something about how this isn't a healthy coping mechanism, while Doctor Feelings gently reminded him he had three brothers he could rely on. He ignored both voices again, and pressed down a painful scar hard, hoping for the relief of physical pain over the emotional one.
It didn't hurt.
Mikey looked at his arm in surprise.
Or
Instead of listening to his own advise and going to his brothers, Michelangelo decided that hurting the mystic scars as a reminder that everything is okay would be better instead.

Mikey was... difficult.
"It comes with being a teenager." Raph tried to tell himself... but he knew it didn't. Donnie and Leo never acted like this. This... this wasn't normal.
"If you continue to baby him, he will never learn to be independent. Or worse... Just saying. You might end up... ya know. Chasing him away."
Oh, how Raph wished he had listened to Donnie.

They used to be close. The closest. Until Raph's smothering became... too much. And they drifted apart.
Mikey never realized just how much it hurt that he and Raph drifted away, until he ends up with an unconcious Raphael, trapped in a collapsing building, and unable to reach his brothers.

Why did his body feel so heavy?
He blinked sluggishly, rolling onto his front. He had tried to draw to take his mind off these feelings, but he couldn't hold the stupid pencil. He hadn't even gone out for lunch...
"MIKEY!" He heard Raph call, making him wince. Raph's loud voice didn't do his head any favors... "COME ON, TIME FOR PATROL!"
Humming slightly, Michelangelo forced himself to move, swaying on the spot. Oh, shell... everything was spinning and he felt too hot-
Hold up.
He froze on the spot. Slowly, he put the back of his hand against his forehead. He... he was warm. Really warm...
Burning throat, trouble breathing, shaky limbs, tiredness, loss of appetite...
"...Oh my shell." Mikey groaned, covering his face with his hands. He couldn't be serious...
Did he seriously brush a fever off for his asthma all day?
Or
Mikey not realizing that no, not being able to stand or hold anything, for everything to feel hot and cold and his head in the clouds, is not just "something else his body does"

"...You came into the room to show your art." He thought slowly, watching for a reaction. He knew he found gold when the turtle reacted with a whine. "But you didn't so you... wouldn’t... upset Leo...?"
"He was already feeling bad about not healing right... I wasn't gonna rub it in his face."
